Wanderers were well-beaten by play-off chasers Derby County at Pride Park, with most of the damage done during an inept first-half display.
Phil Parkinson's side has been sucked right back into the relegation mire after a 3-0 defeat at Pride Park.
But how did the players rate? Chief football writer Marc Iles gives his verdict.
WANDERERS (5-3-2)
BEN ALNWICK… 5
Should he have got a hand to Lawrence’s third goal? The Wanderers keeper made a couple of decent saves but didn’t get much help again from his back line.
MARK LITTLE… 5.5
At least showed the right attitude in the second half of the game, putting in a couple of good crosses. Defensively the movement of Weimann and Lawrence caused Little and Bolton no end of problems.
REECE BURKE… 4
Lost Pearce for the first goal, possibly culpable for the second too. Hooked at half-time. Might be the end of the road for the West Ham loanee.
DAVID WHEATER… 5
Left out of position for the second goal, when he was left appealing for offside as Nugent strolled through. Not a happy reintroduction to the team.
MARK BEEVERS… 5
Caught for pace on a couple of occasions in the first half. Maybe a touch unlucky he didn’t get on the scoresheet – but would only have been a consolation.
ANTONEE ROBINSON… 5
Looked game going forward but his final ball left a lot to be desired. The youngster struggled against Weimann and the over-lapping Wisdom.
KARL HENRY… 4
Hamstring issues have had a clear effect on his game. Did not appear to be moving well even early on – but with so few leaders in the middle, the former Wolves man is suffering in public.
JOSH VELA… 4
Seemed to drop deeper and deeper looking for the ball but really struggled to make any positive impact at all.
JEM KARACAN… 4
Had a minimal effect on the game. Huddlestone and Ledley marshalled the midfield without Wanderers laying much of a hand on them.
ADAM LE FONDRE… 5
Did not touch the ball in the penalty area – but neither did he get the kind of service which could have brought him into the game. Easy to feel sorry for him at the moment.
AARON WILBRAHAM… 4
Did not present a great case to start against Millwall, coughing up possession for the second goal and hardly making a dent on the Derby defenders.
Subs: Noone 5.5, 46 (for Wilbraham) – Got involved. Might have scored.
Ameobi 5.5, 46 (for Burke) – At least showed some attacking intent.
Derik 75 (for Henry) – Derby had declared by the time he arrived on the pitch.
Not used: Howard, Taylor, Dervite, Clough
Derby (4-2-3-1): Carson; Wisdom, Pearce, Davies, Baird; Huddlestone, Ledley; Weimann, Vydra, Lawrence; Nugent.
Subs: Palmer 69 (for Vydra), Jerome 69 (for Nugent), Thomas 85 (for Lawrence) Not used: Roos, Forsyth, Hanson, Keogh.
Referee: Darren England (Lancashire) 7/10
Attendance: 25,723
Atmosphere: 6/10
Entertainment: 5/10
Man of the match: Mark Little was probably the best of a bad bunch for Wanderers – although the 650 travelling fans deserve the accolade much more than any of the players.
