My lad's been on it since 4. Mithering me to death to buy him this that and the other. Might have to ban him from it, Its taking over his life. Dead excited because he's tier 12 or summat. I don't know, my gaming days are behind me now.

My lad downloaded the new version last night and tapped me up for some more vbucks. Glad i've got my settings set up properly so he has to request any money he needs and can't just do it himself.
One fella i know on facebook said his Son has spent £103 on fortnite, he managed to get it back after explaining it to them in Microsoft live chat which was lucky for him.

Turn off their games and send them outside to play. If you're not careful they'll turn into sad fuckwits like you lot that spend their lives on the internet.

Never been good at games like this.
I tried playing Half Life a few times but got shot to death in the first couple of mins of playing.

That's the point kp. If you enjoy it you keep playing and practicing and get better.

It is a worry Boncey but hopefully we have the right settings in place to stop it happening. My lad can only talk to other kids he is friends with on his xbox and they have to be invited in to join a party to actually talk to each other.
Not sure about the text thing it mentions but i do drum in to him about people trying to contact him online and to be very careful and let me know if anyone contacts him. Having to try and explain what grooming is to a 10 year old was not easy but needed doing unfortunately.

Yes,it's a very delicate balance. You want kids to enjoy their time online, but have, with very good reason,to be wary.Norpig wrote:It is a worry Boncey but hopefully we have the right settings in place to stop it happening. Talking about it,tough though it is,will pay dividends, although I've always found it a shame that modern kids have to be dragged out of that childhood comfort zone that so many of the rest of us enjoyed, probably well into our teens.
