No one has been sold.

The former Hibs defender was already a free agent, how do you know he turned us down? If he did who could blame him, few teams interested in him and he will probably go where he is guaranteed to get his contracted wage.

We did almost get him but the problem seems to have been a the Sheffield end of the agreement.
I'm surmising, without any evidence as yet, that Sheffield probably wanted all the fees paid up front because of our recent track record of not paying people. The list of people who aren't paid, get paid only after legal threats and winding up orders is virtually non stop and anybody with an ounce of sense would see that we have become an untrustworthy organisation to do business with- therefore it would make sense for anybody with large contractual payments which KA would attempt to defer until some future date would reject this offer and tell him to pay the money upfront. As he can't afford to do this- then we lose the player. We've become a scum club.
As  I say, I've no evidence for this interpretation of events but you can bet  its got to do with money and assurances of if or when it will arrive.
I think this whole affair of not landing a striker now condemn us to relegation when any value in the club which KA tries to release will fall further.

So in a transfer window where Parky said we desperately needed a striker he ends up bringing in a defender.

Laughable if it wasn't so, so predictable.

It will take another last day miracle to escape League One this season.  It is NOT laughable... it is pathetic (even if it was not the fault of our management).  This makes the loss of ALF even more difficult to accept.  Is there a decent free agent out there?

Whilst a whole new back line would be welcome this is just one centre back - because obviously a CB is just what we need right now.
