WANDERERS took a point from Ipswich despite playing for two-thirds of the game with 10 men.

Phil Parkinson's side struggled to create chances in a scrappy game but dug in to ensure they did not suffer a fourth consecutive defeat.
But how did the players rate? Marc Iles gives his verdict.

WANDERERS (4-2-3-1)

BEN ALNWICK…8 Stunning save in the second half but also looked confident claiming crosses when Ipswich applied some pressure in the second half.

PAWEL OLKOWSKI…6 We didn’t see as much of the Pole pushing forward and – possibly for the first time since he signed – he was a little sloppy in possession.

JACK HOBBS…8 His positioning was absolutely first class. It was a big call from Parkinson to change both his centre-backs but Hobbs took his opportunity with both hands.

MARC WILSON…6 Had been having a sound game until the red card. Wanderers have indicated they may appeal.

JONATHAN GROUNDS…6 Excellent in the first half, a little wasteful in the second. Some positive signs that the Birmingham loanee is getting up to the right speed.

JASON LOWE…6.5 Back to something like his early-season form. Never let Nolan or Ward have time on the ball and screened the defence well.

JOE WILLIAMS…6 Feisty performance from the on-loan Everton midfielder and more in tune with his impressive debut at Preston.

CRAIG NOONE…7 Busy, busy, busy. Noone’s work-load really was impressive, as the winger helped out in both halves after Wanderers went a man down.

ERHUN OZTUMER…6 Bright start. Then he became the fall guy. A shame – but his time will come.

WILL BUCKLEY…7 Like Noone, got through a quite ridiculous amount of running. Pulled one dangerous cross along the six yard box too.

JOSH MAGENNIS…7 Worked hard in a thankless task with 10 men. Gave Luke Chambers problems but didn’t get a chance to add to his goal total.

Subs: Wheater 7, 36 (for Oztumer) – Very solid when he came on.
Wildschut 87 (for Buckley) Donaldson (90+2) for Noone.

Not used: Matthews, Vela, Doidge, O’Neil.

Ipswich (4-2-3-1): Gerken; Pennington, Nsisala, Chambers, Knudsen; Skuse, Chalobah; Ward, Nolan, Edwards; Jackson.
Subs: Edun 45 (for Chalobah), Walters 71 (for Skuse), Graham 71 (for Ward) Not used: Bialkowski, Harrison, Spence, Downes.

Referee: Stephen Martin

Buckley=7. For running. My God, if he had any skill to go with it he'd be off the scale on that basis.

7's are high scores for the 3 attacking players, none of whom had a shot on target let alone scored against the team that were bottom of the league.Working hard is the minimum we should expect, to get more than 6 they should be causing the opposition problems, their keeper didnt have a save to make

To be fair the ratings are only Marc Iles personal opinion and I guess he doesn't want to piss the players off too much - but he did go, he saw the match and it is a basis for us to have a discussion about.

At the end of the day we did play a hour with a man down and Ipswich didn't win - and you never know, that might be a crucial point for us and two lost for Ipswich come the end of the season.

For what it's worth, when I saw the penalty incident on the highlights clip I did think there was something unnatural about how their attacker fell, straight leg and falling almost 90 degrees to his left when running in a straight line. This was before I saw Parkinson's comments and Iles too, who both alluded to their player diving.

Can't really blame the ref though as he called it how he saw it without the use of several action replays to look at.

Hopefully Hobbs stays in the team in place of Beevers now.
