Leeds have a horrendous injury list so we'll only get beaten by a couple of goals.

3-1 Leeds.

4/6 seems a cracking price for Leeds to beat our shite

Perhaps the horrendous injury list has something to do with it

Ref Watch: Robert Jones to take charge of Leeds United home clash

Robert Jones will oversee Wanderers Sky Bet Championship home clash against Leeds United on Saturday afternoon at the University of Bolton Stadium.

Entering into his fifth season as a top flight referee, Jones has officiated 19 games so far this year, in which he has produced 63 yellow cards and a single red card.

When looking towards last season, Jones produced 132 yellow cards in 45 games, branding eight red cards in total.

The last time Jones was in charge a Wanderers match was in April 2018, where he oversaw Wanderers 2-0 home defeat against Millwall in the Sky Bet Championship.

In that fixture, Jones did not produce any card for either the Lions or the Whites.

Nigel Lugg and Adam Matthews will run the line for the fixture, with Andy Haines as fourth official.

Preview: Bolton Wanderers v Leeds United

Bolton Wanderers take on Leeds United in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday 15 December. With that said, bwfc.co.uk have produced five things to take into this weekend’s home clash.

1. Squad Update

During Friday's press conference in preview on the home clash, manager Phil Parkinson spoke to bwfc.co.uk and gave an update on the squad.

Parkinson said: “As well as Sammy Ameobi's suspension, Mark Beevers in particular has a bit of tighness in his groin."

"He is a doubt which is a shame because he got a goal last week to back up his goal from Millwall.

"But, we've got players that are more than capable of stepping in if Mark is out, as it has been a keenly contested position for us at the back.

"Mark's injury if he does miss out is not serious either."

2. A Game to Remember

In May 2004, Leeds United arrived at the University of Bolton Stadium needing a victory to keep their hopes alive of avoiding relegation from the Premier League. It was not meant to be on tha day for the Yorkshire side, as goals from Youri Djorkaeff, Kevin Nolan and an Ian Harte own goal saw Wanderers run out 4-1 winners.

To relive those moments once again, click on the video below!

3. The Boss - Marcelo Bielsa

This summer, there have been various new additions made by the club during the summer.

Marcelo Bielsa was appointed as manager of the club in June after the sacking of Paul Heckingbottom.

Following on from a three-year playing career in his native Argentina, this will be Bielsa’s 28th year in management.

During his time at Athletic Bilbao, he finished runner-up in the UEFA Europa League and Copa del Rey in 2011/12. He also won the gold medal with Argentina in the 2004 Summer Olympics.

He was appointed manager of Leeds in June 2018.

4. New Faces at Elland Road

In terms of playing staff, full back Barry Douglas was brought in from Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Scottish international was instrumental in gaining promotion to the top tier of English football for Wolves last season, playing 40 times in the league with five goals to his name.

As well as Douglas, striker Patrick Bamford signed from Middlesbrough in July. A former England youth international, Bamford was named Football League Championship Player of the Year in 2014/15 whilst playing for Middlesbrough on loan.

That season, he notched up 17 goals in 38 Sky Bet Championship games.

5. Important Ticket News

A reminder to all fans that only fans with a previous booking history with the club will be able to purchase tickets for this weekend's game against Leeds.

The prices for the game are as follows:

Adults from £30

Over-65s from £24

Under-23s from £24

Under-18s: £12

Under-12s: £10

Report: Bolton Wanderers 0-1 Leeds United

Wanderers were defeated by Leeds United in the Sky Bet Championship 1-0 on Saturday afternoon, with a Patrick Bamford goal the difference maker.

Team News

Phil Parkinson made two changes to the line-up that started against Norwich City at Carrow Road.

David Wheater replaced Mark Beevers, with Josh Magennis and Josh Vela coming in for Christian Doidge and Sammy Ameobi.

First Half

Leeds started at a fast pace, with Pablo Hernandez forcing a save out of Ben Alnwick mere minutes into the game.

Wanderers responded with a chance of their own, as Craig Noone brushed past Barry Douglas before putting a tantalising delivery into the box aiming for Will Buckley, but Leeds goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell claimed well in the air.

Jamie Shackleton burst down the right flank, before finding Lewis Baker in the air, but the Chelsea loanee fizzed his header wide of the mark.

Leeds’ Baker lost out to Buckley midway through the half, but the Whites winger lost his footing as he charged through on goal.

Second Half

Craig Noone came out after the restart with the first chance for either side, as a counter attacking move saw the midfielder cut in from the right wing and fire towards goal, but his effort was narrowly off target.

Kalvin Phillips tried to get the visitors going with a long range effort sailing high and wide over Ben Alnwick’s crossbar.

Leeds took the lead five minutes past the hour mark as Patrick Bamford was played into the penalty area, where he ultimately dispatched from close range leaving Alnwick motionless.

Twenty minutes to go in the clash and Pablo Hernandez delivered the ball into the Whites area, but Phillips headed wide of the target.

Five minutes left on the clock and Jack Hobbs latched onto the end of a cross that was cleared off the line by a Leeds defender, inches away from the equaliser.

Mateusz Klich unleashed an effort from the edge of the 18 yard area, forcing a full stretch diving save from Alnwick down low to his left.

Wanderers midfielder Jason Lowe went close late on for Phil Parkinson’s men, with a low, powerful effort edging inches away from the bottom right corner.

Full Time

Wanderers XI: Alnwick, Taylor, Lowe, Vela, Buckley (Wildschut 72), Noone, Hobbs, Olkowski, J. Williams (Oztumer 80), Magennis (Doidge 75), Wheater (C).

Unused substitutes: Matthews, Donaldson, Wilson, O’Neil.

Another awful game, another thoroughly depressing performance.

Credit to the defence, and Vela in midfield, who were all decent.

But once again, walking away from the ground, I heard a few voices stating the old cliches: "Parky has his hands tied", "Leeds have spent millions", "What more can we expect?".

I'll tell you what more we can fucking expect, the fucking manager to make the best of the squad he has put together. FFS, another 90 minutes without a winger putting in a single decent cross. It doesn't matter if it's Noone, Buckley or Wildschut - they are all fucking terrible wingers. They can't cross, can't beat a man, can't even run half the fucking time.

Magennis is no Kevin Davies, but he does win headers, but they're always miles away from the penalty area. In the last 3 months how many times has a winger put a ball in the box that Magennis (or Doidge or Donaldson) has been able to attack. I can't think of a single one.

We used to be labelled a long ball team, I'd fucking kill to win that tag back!! I'd rather see crosses going in left, right and centre than the fucking backwards passing our wingers and midfielders are so keen on.

Fucking wise up Parky, and give Little a chance on the right, it is impossible for him to be any worse than the trio of wing-wankers you pick every fucking week.

We aren't a bad team at the back, no one is dicking us, but the lack of quality service to the striker is killing us. The manager is tactically inept, I'm convinced virtually any other manager out there could get more from this team.

Ken, find a way to get shut of Parky and at least give us half a chance of staying up.

What a load of bollocks, Leeds are an average side on todays showing, and we should be getting at them at home.
