The Bees have been on a bad run recently - only one win in the last 10 games which is still a lot better than us but does suggest some fragility.
Problem is, what have we got to test that fragility? The battling attacking performance of the second half of the Norwich game or the zero shots of the Leeds game?
One thing is certain: if we don't create shots we won't score so something has to improve and quickly if we are to get anything from this game.
I suspect it will be a fairly defensive performance despite our desperation for points as Brentford are a decent passing side with players who are reasonably technical and can pass straight so I'm just hoping that they have a poor day in front of goal and that we get lucky.

Any team on a bad run can always count on us to turn up and save the day.

The longer the losses the worse the football is going to get, as Mr bingo tinkers his way through the season, as long as he's our manager we're going down as he cannot decide on any formations, anyhoo 3-1 Brentford.

I’ve gone with the same prediction.

Very much doubt we can get 3 points.

High time the manager and team were cut some slack.  Both are operating under extreme pressures. No money, lack of confidence, travelling to matches cattle class etc.  I have supported BWFC for 54 years but cannot recall a time when a team had to perform under such strains.  Sadly I can no longer afford to attend matches but will always support the Bolton team and manager 100%.

Ref Watch: James Linington to oversee Wanderers away clash against Brentford

James Linington will take charge of Wanderers Sky Bet Championship away clash against Brentford on Saturday afternoon at Griffin Park.

Entering into his twelfth season as a top flight referee, Linington has officiated 15 games so far this year, in which he has produced 44 yellow cards.

When looking towards last season, Linington produced 140 yellow cards in 40 games, branding five red cards in total.

The last time he was in charge of a Wanderers match was in August 2018, where he oversaw our 1-0 victory against Reading in Sky Bet Championship.

In that fixture, Linington booked three players in the form of Tyler Blackett and Liam Kelly for the Royals, along with David Wheater for the Whites.

Lee Venamore and Dean Treleaven will run the line for the fixture, with Keith Stroud as fourth official.

Preview: Brentford v Bolton Wanderers

Bolton Wanderers take on Brentford in the Sky Bet Championship this weekend at Griffin Park. With that said, bwfc.co.uk highlights five talking points heading into the away clash.

1. Squad Update

During Friday’s pre-match press conference ahead of Brentford, assistant manager Steve Parkin gave an update on the squad.

Parkin said: “Mark Beevers is better now - his groin injury has settled down.

“Obviously we have Sammy Ameobi back from suspension and the whole squad seem in good spirits and are in a good place.”

2. A Game To Remember

We take you back to October 2014, when Brentford travelled to the University of Bolton Stadium to face Neil Lennon’s Bolton side in only his second home game in charge of the club.

The scores were level until just past the hour mark when Neil Danns slotted home while a Davies double - goals from Mark and Craig - sealed a 3-1 win for the Wanderers.

The highlights of that particular win meanwhile are below.

3. The Boss – Thomas Frank

The Bees' Danish manager took charge at Griffin Park in October after Dean Smith left to take the reins at Aston Villa.

He originally moved to Brentford to become co-assistant coach in 2016.

Frank has had an illustrious coaching career managing youth teams in Denmark before moving to the national team taking charge of the U16, U17 and U19 sides.

A career move to Brondby followed, where his side qualified for the Europa League two years in a row, despite failing to make it through the qualification rounds in both seasons.

4. New Faces At Griffin Park

Having only being appointed in October, Frank is yet to make any signings himself, so only has Dean Smith’s squad at his disposal.

The Bees had a reasonably quiet summer transfer window, only making four signings.

Twenty-year-old centre back Ezri Konsa signed from Charlton and has featured 21 times this term, keeping two clean sheets.

Brentford also secured the signature of defender Julian Jeanvier meanwhile.

The 26-year-old has struggled to stake a claim to a first team place though, only making six appearances so far.

He has however found the back of the net in both of his first two games in the Carabao Cup against Southend and the only goal of the game against Cheltenham.

5. Pay on the Day

Wanderers supporters will be able to buy tickets from the turnstiles at Griffin Park on Saturday afternoon.

Tickets will be sold on a cash only basis and prices do not increase on the day.

The prices are as follows:

Ticket Prices (Both Terrace & Seated)

Adults: £20
Over-65s: £15
Under-25s: £5
Under-18s: £1

Well, can we turn the corner and pick up at least a point today?

Or will it be another nail in the coffin?

It reminds me of his selection against Burton last season, a totally defensive line up against a fellow relegation rival.

And what happened there?
