WANDERERS (5-3-2)
REMI MATTHEWS…8
Could walk off the pitch with his head held high. Penalty save was one of the easier he managed on the afternoon. In this form, a real quality purchase.
PAWEL OLKOWSKI…4
After a swashbuckling performance at Birmingham, Norwich exploited the space behind him ruthlessly in the first half. Couldn’t cope with Hernandez and Lewis.
JASON LOWE…4.5
Moved to centre-half because Wilson failed a fitness test, Lowe wasn’t the only defender to struggle against Norwich’s incision and movement.
DAVID WHEATER…4.5
Too often bypassed in a game where Wanderers’ whole team looked a yard short of pace. Got a few good blocks in but nothing as commanding as normal.
MARK BEEVERS…4.5
Like Wheater just didn’t get close enough when Norwich got into the dangerous areas. Seemed panicky in possession, too.
CRAIG NOONE…6
After filling in again as a left-back and not disgracing himself, Noone looked quite sharp in the second half playing as a winger.
JOSH VELA…4
Subbed at half time having had minimal impact on the game. Shame, as it seemed set up for his energetic style of play.
CALLUM CONNOLLY…4
Totally bypassed in the first half but marginally better when moved to left-back later on.
LUKE MURPHY…4
After a quality second-half at Birmingham he totally deserved his recall but he didn’t make much of a dent on this game.
CLAYTON DONALDSON…4
Didn’t do much with the couple of half-chances which came his way. Given very little service, in truth.
JOSH MAGENNIS… 5
Won plenty in the air but Norwich’s defenders really can’t have had a more comfortable afternoon this season.
Subs: Ameobi 4, 46 (for Donaldson) – Still search for something approximating form.
J Williams 6, 46 (for Vela) – Gave some energy to the middle of the park and got forward.
Buckley 88 (for Noone) – Inexplicable sub.
Not used: Little, Pritchard, Hall, B Williams
Norwich (4-2-3-1): Krul; Aarons, Zimmermann, Godfrey, Lewis; McClean, Trybull; Buendia, Stiepermann, Hernandez; Pukki
Subs: Leitner 79 (for Stiepermann), Sbreny 88 (for Pukki), Hanley 89 (for Lewis)
Not used: Rhodes, Klose, Cantwell, McGovern
Referee: Andy Woolmer 5/10 Inconsistent, at best. But got the penalty call right.
Attendance: 14,006 (1,561)
