Why would you keep Magennis?

Beevers is hopeless and should be first out. He just lumps it forward to no one in particular or passes backwards. He has been terrible this season, Hobbs is a better partner for Wheater.
The problem we will have is the likes of Buckley and Noone are still under contract so we'll find it hard to get shut of them.
I would keep all the others on Martins list but i can't see Olkowski staying and Connell will be snapped up.

I'd certainly get this guy in. Buckley could go the other way.

Absolutely no idea what the team will look like next season as it will all depend on what happens in the ownership saga and what league we're in (although I think we have a pretty good idea about the latter)
Bassini was talking about getting us back to the prem, so although I don't think his alleged bid will be successful, if it does come about I'd be surprised if any of the senior players whose contracts are up would be retained.
If the other alleged consortium do a deal it seems they are apparently more interested in developing the land etc so would probably have a more measured approach to investment in the team and perhaps be inclined to stick with what we've got plus maybe one or two additions to get us back to the championship - although that's a big ask considering how tight League 1 is this year.
If by some miracle we survive this season then it would be a whole new scenario.
And of course we could still be liquidated in which case we wouldn't have to worry about it.

What is for sure is a new manager is essential for next season.

But who? Anyone have a name that might set the pulses racing?

And please be realistic. I'm putting my thinking cap on.

Micky Adams. Alan Irvine.

Not sure but we need someone from the lower leagues who can step up as Chris Wilder has done at Sheffield Utd.
There will be a long list of ex managers who will fancy it but we need to look somewhere different for a change.

I'd have liked Steve Clarke, but I think the brilliant job he's done at Kilmarnock means he'll be getting bigger suitors than us.

I think we need a proper strike force as much as a new manager. Defence is far from great but without goals we're fooked regardless of what division we're in - and we've scored less than any team in the EFL.
I wouldn't mind so much if we showed some intent but we don't even manage to average 3 shots on target per game - the lowest in any division including the Premier and the only team that doesn't even manage 3. Even with Parky's cautious approach, they might have a dip every now and then but we are the most shot shy team in history as far as I can tell. At least if they have a go and it's a crap shot, there's always a chance we might get lucky with a deflection or GK error, but we don't even buy a ticket.

Lets say we have no manager come end of season...then who would determine which players to retain?  The tea lady would have more idea than PP but apart from that....

It's such an unbelievably underwhelming squad of players I've barely got the energy to put together a list.

That said some of the right crappens from the last season we went down actually turned out to be massive for us in League One.

Obviously we have to keep hold of the likes of Magennis and Oztumer who are proven decent-outstanding at that level.

I guess [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] would put paid to us rebuilding the squad if it comes to pass.
Thanks Ken.

Would you rally keep Magennis? For me he'd be one of the first ones out the door. He huffs and puffs and puts a shift in -but nothing ever come from it. He's useless as a striker. How many league goals has he scored this season?
