Transfer rumours !

I had high hopes for him when he was banging them in for fun in the u23's but he's had too many injuries and never got a chance to show what he can do. Going back to the Conference might do him good and give him a chance to rebuild his career.

I think our academy produced a few top notch players but for the most part they have proven to be lower league and non-league standard. Like Connor but if he was ever going to get to the top he'd have done more by now. I think Rob Holding is the only one in recent years who has consistently played at the top level.

Coventry and Bolton are reportedly interested in CSKA-Sofia attacking midfielder Graham Carey. Scottish side Dundee United are also after him...

Wow! That would be a bold acquisition even though he's getting on now. Another very attack-minded player with a good head and a cracking shot. LWB?

I suspect he's meant to be an addition to our attacking midfield options, given the loss of Dennis Politic.

A couple of things about this, the first is that he's only half way through a two year contract, so I guess he must be on a free/been mutually released because as far as I know we are still under a transfer embargo.

The second is that the wage cap as kicked in, so he won't be the best paid player in the team and Coventry, in a higher division can offer him more.

He's also 31 and I assume will be looking for at least a two year contract if not more.

Seems to fill the gap for Politic though.

34 year old Charlie Adam? Interesting one!

He's experienced and would be good to have around the squad for the younger players but doubt he'll play that often?

Adam sounds like a decent signing to me - so long a he’s not on that much money. It’s also someone Nat’s heard of which is obviously a key criteria.

Weird. All along Evatt’s gone for “power and pace” (his words) but Charlie hardly fits that bill.

I can’t see him dropping down to our level tbh.

Seems Sunderland have the same scriptwriter for new signings that we do.

I rated Matthews but he did get a lot of stick which i thought was unfair.

There was an interesting comment from Iles in one of his articles on the Accy game in which he said that  Evatt wants a further 4 signings to complete the squad. If so we I think we can assume they are already being lined up.
I imagine that one may be the 18 year old wunderkind previously discussed on this thread (aka "trialist") but beyond that? Adam? dunno.
Any ideas folks?

I've no ideas but I would guess that we will probably bring in some on loan - hence the last minute sort of signings as the clubs doing the loaning would have sorted out their squads enough to know who they could send out on loan at to clubs at which level they want their players to compete at.

I'd hazard a guess that we need a back up keeper, cover for Politic's injury, cover for left back with Bunney hopping off and a third striker if Faal isn't up to the mark.
