No chance of Alf coming back but according to reports Dapo is on the verge of a permanent signing for us, which will be fantastic news if true.

Very quiet on the Declan John front and of all the loanees I thought him the best equipped to succeed at L1 level, but we'll see - maybe Swansea are rethinking things after losing in the playoff final?
The Andy Cannon rumour won't go away it seems - but I reckon it's speculation based on him wanting to move back up north.
Not sure Bogger's tips Bahamboula and Charles are on the cards either as they're both under contract (Charles had a contract extension clause which has been triggered) so I reckon there'll be a few surprises in the pipeline.

Actually, of the two LB loans we had, I think I’d rather have Ben Jackson back than Declan John if we could prize him away from Huddersfield. I’m not knocking John, he was great but I just think Jackson has it all in front of him and may be a better fit. I also suspect that John will be looking further up the league for options but however well he did for us, I don’t think it will affect Swansea’s plans to let him go. He will also be on good money and far more than we can pay and he may believe he can do better than that. What I don’t want though, is John to delay a decision and only come here if nothing else turns up. We want players like Dapo who actually loved last year and want to be here for that and not money.

They're both good with different attributes. I think John defends and crosses better and they both offer the occasional goal threat but Jackson is only 20 and would represent a decent investment even though he still has some development to do.Whitesince63 wrote:Actually, of the two LB loans we had, I think I’d rather have Ben Jackson back than Declan John if we could prize him away from Huddersfield. That said, John is only 25 and has experience right up to international level so may be the better short to medium term option.
Personally I'd like them both and I think John would be a good influence on Jackson - but Huddersfield might want to keep Jackson after their scrape with relegation and I'm not sure what's going to happen with Swansea. If they'd beaten Brentford they'd have definitely let John go. We'll just have to wait and see but right now I'm more interested in finding out who Evatt's mystery targets are

Jackson is contracted to Huddersfield for next season so if we do get him we would have to either buy him, sign him on a free, or he returns on loan again.

Their regular right back is a bloke called 'Pipa' who himself is only 23 but played 37 league games for last season and is under contract for next season.

I guess Jackson wasn't needed for cover, otherwise he would have been in their squad rather than out on loan with us, so I'm gussing he probably will be available for loan next season too.
I can't see Huddersfield would want him to come to us again if we did sign John though because they'd want him to be playing and getting experience rather than being on the bench.

Well this time I’m certain that John has been released today from Swansea’s retained list. There’s now nothing to stop him coming back and signing for us so if he doesn’t, then he’s hanging around for a better offer. I’ve no problem with that except that to me it indicates that we’re not as special as others who have committed to contracts. He may have more experience at higher levels but before he did come here he was effectively on the scrap heap, so it would be a bit of an insult if he didn’t come straight in and I’d advise IE to forget him and target elsewhere, including Ben Jackson again.

Evatt definitely has a thing about the sheep mitherers.....
Williams, John, Jones, Isgrove and possibly Sheehan.
I'd take Bale if we're getting any more.

Enough of the ethnic slurs please otherwise you will face a ban.
List of ethnic slurs
The following is a list of ethnic slurs (ethnophaulisms) that are, or have been, used as insinuations or allegations about members of a given ethnicity or racial group or to refer to them in a derogatory (that is, critical or disrespectful), pejorative (disapproving or contemptuous), or otherwise insulting manner.
Some of the terms listed below (such as "Gringo", "Yank", etc.) are used by many people all over the world as part of their ordinary speech or thinking without any intention of causing offence. The connotation of a term and prevalence of its use as a pejorative or neutral descriptor varies over time and by geography.
For the purposes of this list, an ethnic slur is a term designed to insult others on the basis of race, ethnicity, or nationality. Each term is listed followed by its country or region of usage, a definition, and a reference to that term.

George Johnston signed on a 3 year deal, was on loan at Wigan last season from Feyenoord, suffice to say Wigan fans are going apeshit at this news

Shame you don't apply the same standards to your slurs on mental health with your regular us of "nutjob", "mentalist" etc etc - especially when slandering someone whose child suffers from schizophrenia.Sluffy wrote:

Perhaps you should ban yourself and give us all a break?

Feyenoord bought him from Liverpool but with a 30% sell on clause.MartinBWFC wrote:George Johnston signed on a 3 year deal, was on loan at Wigan last season from Feyenoord, suffice to say Wigan fans are going apeshit at this news
Does that mean Liverpool get nowt if we got him for free? Or have we coughed up?

I don't remember you being so PC when you repeatedly insinuated I had mental health issues (along with copious other personal abuse of me that got you banned off here more than once) all because I told you that there were no unsecured assets at the club to rape and plunder - you claimed there were £168m when there was in fact zero!!!
But if you wish, even though your behaviour over the years has clearly pointed to you having personal issues yourself, I will change from using the terms nutjob (a mad or crazy person) and mentalist (an eccentric or mad person) to describe you in future and substitute moron (very foolish or stupid) and fruit cake (Slang. a crazy or eccentric person) instead.
And fwiw I have a child too and you have no idea of her mental health but that didn't stop you 'slandering' me with your opinions on my mental health did it?
The bottom line is that there has been no excuse for your lies and abuse on here over the years on a site that was always intended to be friendly, welcoming and lighthearted.
It's clear you don't like being wrong and react petulantly and childishly when you are shown to be so.
I'm sorry your son has mental health issues, no doubt they have taken a toll on you too over the years but that isn't an excuse to behave the way you have on here.
If you can't control your behaviour on such a innocuous, little site as ours then maybe you should reflect on whether you need to seek help yourself?
And going back to the original point, the world has moved on from ethnic slurs and you should move with it, and if I recall correctly you've already served two bans off here for using homophobic comments previously, so such a warning that you received shouldn't have come as much of a shock to you - and I even give you the benefit of the doubt by asking you please to not doing so again.
I think that was fair and reasonable of me even if you might believe otherwise.
