My concern is that he brought in a fair few younger players with an eye to the future/rebuilding whereas this looks like throwing money at an arguably futile attempt to stay in League 1.

TBF I don't think Hill has many options and we are hardly an attractive proposition for decent players ATM anyhoo so maybe Wheater coming back for sentimental reasons is his only option?

Although I'm not particularly bothered if he comes back, it just goes to show our plight when we actively pursue a player who walked out on us at a most critical time.

BURNLEY have recalled defender Jimmy Dunne from his loan spell at Fleetwood.

The 22-year-old initially moved to Highbury on a season-long deal but is now back at Turf Moor having played 11 times under former Claret Joey Barton.

Dunne had not featured in a League One game since the start of November with his last two appearances coming in the EFL Trophy wins against Oldham and Everton's Under-21s.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international scored one goal for Fleetwood in a 3-3 draw at Southend back in September.

Snatched from under the noses of Chorley and Preston. It would be great if he's any good, but surely is destined for the youth set up.

Strings being pulled as we scrape the barrel one more time. Hamilton played under Hill at Rochdale but couldn't get into the Southend team - and they are pretty shit. That said Mourinho put him on the bench at United. Faal is a streak of piss and is fairly pacy however he should have done more by now (22) if he really is "the next Jamie Vardy" (LOL) but should be good for a goal or two and I've never heard of the kid from Preston, but will probably be "one for the future". We do however need solid defenders so I expect there'll be more to come.

Story came out yesterday but it seems to be getting a bit of traction.
After Everton reserves he's been playing in L2 and the Conference until Ipswich coughed up £2 million for him - decent at L2 level which is presumably why he's being touted as a loanee with a view to a permanent signing.
