Next up we have Lincoln City.  We've played them 20 times and have been victorious in 10 of them.
Our last game against them was just over 10 years ago. 2 days after Gary Megson was put on gardening leave.  A 4-0 victory in the FA Cup 3rd round with goals from Chung Yong Lee, Cahill, Mark Davies and an own goal.

Also the team Phil brown scored his cracker with some classic commentary:

Our last league match against Lincoln was back in 1985-1986.  A 1-1 away draw with Phil Neal scoring our goal.  Some fine footage here:

Wanderers will travel to the Sincil Bank stadium to take on Michael Appleton’s Lincoln City in the Sky Bet League one tomorrow night.

Lincoln City currently sit in 16th place in the table on 31 points.

The Imps come into the game following a 1-1 draw away to Shrewsbury Town on Saturday afternoon but have only suffered one defeat in their last four games.

Team News

In his pre-match press conference with bwfc.co.uk, Wanderers manager Keith Hill said that: “Dennis Politic is available which is good, especially as we don’t have Thibaud Verlinden”.

Luke Murphy will be back in the team following one-match suspension, the Whites will still be without Jason Lowe who is serving a three-game ban following his red card against Shrewsbury Town.

Head to Head

Wanderers have faced Lincoln 19 times with their first-ever meeting coming on the 20th of January 1899 resulting in a 4-0 victory for the Whites.

The last meeting between the two sides came in the 3rd round of FA Cup in 2010, which saw Bolton win 4-0.

Keith Hill’s team are undefeated in their last 4 meetings against Lincoln.

Betting Odds

Wanderers come into the game as betting underdogs at the time of writing, according to Sky Bet, being priced to win at 19/4.

Lincoln are favourites at 8/15, with a draw priced at 14/5.

Man in the Middle

Tuesday night’s game 19:45pm kick-off will be officiated by Neil Hair with Barry Gordon and David Benton and Hristo Karaivanov completing the referee line-up.

Neil Hair has officiated 22 matches this season, with the most recent game being a 3-0 home victory for Salford City against Port Vale.

So far this campaign he has handed out 58 yellow cards and one red card.

Key man for Lincoln – Tyler Walker

The main man for Lincoln tomorrow night will be former Wanderers man 23-year-old Tyler Walker.

Walker made five appearances for the club during the 2017/2018 season following a loan move from Nottingham Forest.

He has scored 13 goals in 25 league matches for Lincoln since his move from Mansfield.

This match could well be postponed, looking at the weather forecast for the Lincoln area.

Report: Lincoln City vs. Bolton Wanderers

Bolton Wanderers went down to a 5-1 defeat against Lincoln City for their first visit to LNER Stadium in 27 years.

Although Ronan Darcy’s second-half strike cancelled out Harry Anderson’s first-half opener, further goals from Tyler Walker, Joe Morell and John Akinde (2) ensured the points stayed in Lincolnshire.

Wanderers fielded two changes from the side that lost to neighbours Rochdale on Saturday with Luke Murphy and Dennis Politic coming in for Sonny Graham and Adam Chicksen.

Joe Dodoo had an early chance on goal after Ronan Darcy latched onto the ball deep in midfield, but the attacker’s left footed low drive lacked the power to trouble Josh Vickers in the Imps’ goal.

The hosts took the lead with their first foray into the Wanderers’ box through Harry Anderson who got on the end of Harry Roffolo’s left sided cross.

Remi Matthews fingertipped a whipped in free-kick from Jorge Grant over his bar as the Imps looked to increase their lead.

James Hesketh saw hopeful effort canon off the Wanderers defence for a corner.

Luke Murphy was caught in possession and the ball fell to Tyler Walker whose instant thunderous volley was parried to safety by Matthews.

Manager Keith Hill made a change during the interval with Chris O’Grady coming on to replace Yoan Zouma.

This meant a switch in the back four with Edwards moving from left-back to partner Toto Nsiala in central defence with Ethan Hamilton dropping to left-back.

And Wanderers were back on terms within a minute of the restart thanks to Darcy’s powerful half volley from the edge of the box after some good work from Josh Emmanuel and Daryl Murphy.

The Imps thought they had retaken the lead just before the half hour mark when Walker thrashed the ball past Matthews. However, the former Wanderers loanee’s effort was ruled out for an offside infringement in the build up.

Politic went close immediately afterwards when his curling effort flew just over the bar, but the hosts got their noses back in front with a sublime finish from Walker who bent his effort around Matthews from outside the box.

In response, Wanderers earned a corner when Luke Murphy’s dangerous ball into the box was cleared behind with both Daryl Murphy and Chris O’Grady lurking at the far post.

Wanderers earned a series of corners as they looked to restore parity in tricky weather conditions at LNER Stadium.

Politic showed some great control and a fine touch before carving out a chance from long range, but his effort was always going just over the bar.

A wicked cross from Politic and a glanced header off Dodoo almost caught out Josh Vickers but the Imps ‘keeper managed to control the ball.

With just under ten minutes remaining Harry Brockbank came on for Darcy. The Wanderers sub slotted into left-back with Hamilton moving back to centre-midfield.

A goal from Morrell and two strikes from John Akinde put the game out of Wanderers’ reach.

Best get used to it there will be many more hammerings to come. There is nowt to be done unfortunately IMO.  We are two seasons away from being able to sign a player of our own. EFL knows best ..dunno..

We can sign players of our own and give them long term contracts, the embargo merely stops us from paying transfer fees and puts a wage cap of £2k per week.

Murphy for instance was signed at the beginning of the season being a free agent, on a twelve month contract.

We were still in the game until the crazy 10 minutes when we conceded 3 quick goals but we did fall apart in the end. The decision to let Chicksen go looks more and more ridiculous considering Bunney is not fit yet.
That bit of optimism we had when we got into plus points has disappeared again and it's going to be a long end to the season now with relegation nailed on.

Long, drawn out end to the season ahead, with everyone prodding the corpse checking for a semblance of life.
I've seen a few in the West Stand in a similar state. We'll storm League 2.

See I don't think we will, top of league 2 are far better teams than bottom league 1 teams, and we're getting battered off bottom sides in this league.
