WANDERERS (4-4-2)
REMI MATTHEWS…6.5 Wasn’t seriously tested through the 90 minutes and opted to punch a few first-half crosses, which set the nerves jangling a bit.
JOSH EMMANUEL…8 Always willing to push on and support but more importantly his positioning and pace helped rescue his side on a couple of occasions.
TOTO NSIALA…7.5 Another very solid outing for the on-loan centre-back. Seems to be a communicator too – which helped his burgeoning partnership with Bryan.
KEAN BRYAN…7 Described as a Rolls Royce by Keith Hill, this was a very solid debut. Happy to take the ball and always looked to have time and space.
BRANDON FLEMING…7 A couple of minor mistakes but the young full-back has an infectious energy and it is clearly proving popular with the Bolton fans.
DENNIS POLITIC…8 Provided the perfect start with a rasping volley and then continued to look a threat every time he had the ball at feet.
JASON LOWE…8.5 One of the unsung heroes. His defensive screening of the back four was first class.
LUKE MURPHY…7 Tidy in possession and never let Tranmere get on top – used all his experience to keep the three points firmly in pocket.
ETHAN HAMILTON…8 Great energy. The Scottish midfielder won so many second balls after half time that Tranmere simply couldn’t cope.
DARYL MURPHY…7.5 Had the bit between his teeth and boosted with the extra support of O’Grady he was able to cause some big problems for the Tranmere back line.
CHRIS O’GRADY…7.5 Looked so much more comfortable in a central role alongside Murphy. Bullied his markers and took his goal superbly.
Subs: Darcy 90+2 (for Politic) Not used: Alexander, Bunney, Faal, Dodoo, Edwards, Graham
