WANDERERS (4-4-1-1)
REMI MATTHEWS…7
Made a huge save down to his right from Thompson at 2-0 and looked confident under crosses all day long.
PAWEL OLKOWSKI…7.5
Took his goal so well and looked in the mood from the first whistle. All the talk had been about Romeo – but Wanderers’ marauding full-back stole the show.
JACK HOBBS…7
Back in the side for the suspended David Wheater, Hobbs coped really well with any of the direct stuff the visitors tried to play.
MARK BEEVERS…7
Recent good form continued against his former club with Elliott and Gregory getting little joy for the most part.
ANDY TAYLOR…6.5
It was always going to be a test for Wanderers' left side – but Taylor slipped back in for only his fourth game of the year and looked comfortable.
JOE WILLIAMS…8.5
Made for the hustle and bustle of this kind of game, Williams revelled in making tackle after tackle in what was his best performance since Preston North End on debut.
CALLUM CONNOLLY…8
Chipped in with the physical stuff but also produced some stunning passes, most notably the one for Olkowski’s opening goal.
GARY O’NEIL…7.5
Few gave him a chance when he got the ball 60 yards from goal but the non-stop midfielder might have grabbed himself goal of the season. Class act.
WILL BUCKLEY…6.5
His first start since January 12, Buckley kept chipping away and might have grabbed himself a goal. A good step in the right direction for him.
SAMMY AMEOBI…7
Most encouraging performance for weeks. Gave his side an outlet and work hard out of possession too. More of the same, please Sammy!
JOSH MAGENNIS…6.5
Didn’t get much of a sniff in front of goal but the powerful striker just got on with it and did some important work at defensive set pieces too.
