With the Whites coming up against MK Dons this weekend, we take a look at players who have played for both sides during their career.
Keith Andrews – Keith Andrews represented both Bolton and MK Dons in his career. He made just five appearances for the Dons in 2015, and played 28 times for the Wanderers, across three seasons. The midfielder was signed by Owen Coyle in the summer of 2012 and made his debut, away at Burnley. He featured alongside Jay Spearing in midfield. He scored his first goals for Bolton scoring twice from the penalty spot in their 5–4 defeat against Peterborough United. Andrews was capped by Republic of Ireland 35 times and scored three times, he played in the Euros in 2012, starting all three games. He now works for Sky Sports as a pundit.
Adam Chicksen – Adam Chicksen came through the MK Dons youth system, and played 93 games for the club. He had spells at Brighton & Hove Albion, Charlton Athletic and Bradford City. The forward signed for Bolton on a six-month contract and departed in January. He played 20 times for the club.
Mark Beevers – Beevers played for Bolton for three season, moving from Millwall to Bolton in 2016 and making 132 appearances for the club, scoring 12 goals. He was a key part of their promotion campaign, finishing in second place and was named in the League One team of the season alongside defensive partner David Wheater. In 2011, he had a short spell at MK Dons, moving there on loan from Millwall, and played 14 times.
Filipe Morais - Filipe Morais played for Bolton and had a significant impact at the club, when he joined Bolton from Bradford in 2017. The Chelsea academy product re-united with former Bradford manager Phil Parkinson at Bolton. He provided four assists in a game against Gillingham and recorded 10 assists and 2 goals in March of that season when he won player of the match award. He finished the season with 13 assists, helping Bolton to a second-placed finish. Morais joined MK Dons for six months in 2006, at the beginning of his career, and played 13 games for the club
Aaron Wilbraham – Aaron Wilbraham joined Bolton in 2017 and is remembered for a famous match where he scored a late winner against Nottingham Forest to keep the Trotters up on the last day of the season in May 2018. At 40, he is currently playing for fellow League One rivals Rochdale. In 2005/06, Wilbraham joined MK Dons on a free and played 204 games for the club, scoring 57 goals.
Benik Afobe – Benik Afobe had a short spell at both Bolton and MK Dons. He played 23 games for Bolton as a teenager, across six months in the 2012/13 season, scoring 3 goals. His move to MK Dons came a couple of years later, where he scored 19 goals.
