Best Bolton Midfielder?

Our midfield really is a shambles, probably the worst its ever been. Oh for a Per Frandsen or Claus Jensen.

Along with Campo they are probably the best midfielders during my time watching Bolton, but I'm sure I'll remember others as soon as I post this message.

What about you, who is the best midfielder you've seen in a white shirt?

Frandsen on his own was better than the whole of our present midfield.

I still miss Alan Thompson.

Campo by a distance, I don't think we ever replaced him.

The young, fit Peter Reid was one hell of a player - George Wood you bastard!

Great player, I always thought he was more of a striker for us though.

Okocha and Djorkaeff - first tier. Campo and Hierro - second tier. Hierro gets second tier only because he was really a CB - he just had so much ability on the ball that he made midfield look effortless.

Djorkaeff was never a striker for us! twenty odd goals in a few seasons is clearly no a BWFC striker ratio!

Jay jay without a doubt for me

Alan Thompson, Jason McAteer, Campo, Jay Jay, I did like David Lee too...

Don't forget the magic that was Stelios!

Stelios was more of a winger. Jay Jay was a great midfielder but he didn't score enough goals to be our best ever. Nolan probably has the best strike rate from a midfield position.

Campo was my favourite. Class act, consistent, great hair do and a personality which is rare in football.

Holden reminds me of Per Frandsen.

At times Peter Reid and Nolan. In terms of their whole Bolton career I think Frandsen was the most consistent.

Has anyone mentioned Mikel Alonso?
