As a film director and rich hedonistic playboy he basically met pretty girls and promised them a career in the movies but unlike Weinstein he was totally up front about it and was good-loking, sporty and allegedly a good lover.  He reportedly shagged them all but some he turned into stars. Brigitte Bardot was 15 (and brunette) when he met her and then married her. Catherine Deneuve he discovered at 17 and then shacked up with her- ditto Jane Fonda who he turned into Barbarella - and also married. 
There were many many others including Hardy who didn't hit those dizzy heights but there was a common theme - he tried to "model" aka style all his women to look exactly the same. Weird.
Look at Catherine Deneuve in "Belle de Jour", Bardot in "And God created Woman" and Fonda in "Barbarella"  - and perhaps also Hardy in the video above? - and it's hard to tell the difference in image.

You know your stuff. I have seen Barbarella but not the others. I will look out for them. Those old fims are wonderful.

I'm well into older cinema but have a penchant for the...off-beat?....including the early surrealist classics, Bunuel, Faraldo,Tarkovsky and then more mainstream Fellini, Kurosawa and soppy stuff with Marcello Mastroianni in it. And Tati. And loads later - I guess I just like (some) films.

He should have left that biscuit if he didnt want it. Someone else could have had it. I didnt need the English subtitles in that, I could tell exactly what they were saying.
Tintin speaks French Savez-Vous? Although he is Belgian. It is pronounced Tantan. Tintin cartoons are great.

I havent heard of those people. Though I do watch films without looking at who Directed them and such. The off-beat ones are good. They are more Artistic.

Love Tati. Probably more revered here than in his homeland.

Not my taste personally - it was for Bonce who apparently loves this kind of shit stuff.  I lost interest after the first 7 albums.

Having got some idea of the type of stuff you like, I'm pretty confident there are  some of these that would be right up your street. Excluding the gory stuff e.g. the eyeball razor slicing Un Chien Andalou which Bunel made with Salvador Dali,  I'll put some recommendations for you on the film thread.
