Evening all!
I recently saw Cool Runnings on tv for the first time since I was quite young. Had a few laughs along the way but what really got me was how realistic the crash scene was in the video. I turned to my gf and said "wow, how the hell did they film that to look so real". There was just something about it that made me think it looked too good for a film. She replied to me, "I don't know, but it's a true story you know."
I honestly thought she was pulling my leg at first until I looked it up online. And today I have my answer as to why the crash looked so real in the film. They used the real footage from the Winter Olympics in which the first Jamaican bob sled team took part and crashed out in frightening fashion.
