I found out not too long ago from my uncle that I had relatives who were at Burnden Park on the day of the disaster. Also, given I've already done the Reebok I suppose it was a matter of time that I would be building Burnden.
Given the fact that on March 9th we will be observing the 75th anniversary of the Burnden Park disaster I felt it would be a good time to build our former home as my tribute contribution in memory of those who were lost that day.
I know Burnden Park resonates with us all in some way, and I don't want to let anyone down with how it turns out. However, despite managing to obtain some images from Google I am still struggling with getting images to work from (the corner between the Paddock and the Lever End is causing particular problems so I would be grateful if anyone had any images of the ground that they would be happy for me to use.

With that in mind, I want to share my work so far, showing the near-complete Burnden Paddock with work just getting underway on the southeast corner

I used to stand on the Paddock and would have been in the area of the first picture. Many happy memories there  Very Happy

That's very good to know, unfortunately I would have been too young to experience Burnden (I was a year old when we moved to the Reebok), but I know that nearly every Bolton fan holds it in high regard 🙂

Anyone on Nuts thought of building Burnden in matchsticks?

I did models out of paper and cellotape as a kid, but never matchsticks

Hi everyone, I thought I'd just update you all as to where I'm at with Burnden Park as of last night.

- The Burnden Paddock is nearing completion, having its roof added following my first update. The seating is all in place and the terracing is complete. I've also added the advertising boards along the length of the roof.
- The next stand I began to tackle was the Lever End and admittedly it had its issues, especially with trying to get a straight roof to fit over a covered stand. I have managed it to the best I could muster, and have already prepared the floodlight pylon which penetrates the roof in the southeast corner. I'm hoping to fill in the other corner in the coming days.
- Next up is the Manchester Road Stand which has probably seen most of my focus over the past week. The stand itself is practically finished, with a few exterior details needing to be added. This includes the gantry on the roof.
- Finally we have the Embankment, which was started last night. I'm aware what people think about the superstore so I have devised a solution for this to appease both parties. I will be building the Embankment itself and then I will copy the save, so I can have one with the superstore and one without.

Hopefully in the next week or so landscaping will begin around the stadium. I'm planning to add Manchester Road itself (why wouldn't I?) and then I will be adding the bridge to the Northeast to provide some context for the embankment.

I know this won't be 100% accurate but I'm doing my best 🙂👍

Don't forget the massive Ingersoll Rand Advertisement on the Lever End's roof!

Maybe if you contact Ingersoll for their permission they might be happy to sponsor your project in some small way!

Just a thought.

I'll do my best to get it in there, it might be a bit pixelated though. That sounds like a good idea, are they still going?

I don't think that as there in the end when we left in 1997, do you know when it was removed at all?

Thank you very much, it is looking better than I imagined it would given the lack of imagery 🙂👍

Think they now go under another name but there's no harm in still asking!

You could always put the new company's logo and details somewhere, thanking them for use of the Ingersoll Rand advert and for (hopefully) sponsoring your work!

Hi Matt

Burnden is looking great.  Realms has finally come to playstation so my lad finally has his own server that him and his friends (and sister and me)  can go on.

Some of the builds we have managed to do considering it's survival mode are unbelievable.  Lots of mining involved!!!!

Thank you very much pal, it's good to hear that you've all got your own server set up now. It seems you're already making good progress on it, and the building on the second to last image (which I presume is a castle?) for some reason reminds me of the General Motors Headquarters in Detroit

BURNDEN PARK 1993 VARIANT COMPLETE (February 15, 2021)

We are so close to the end of this project now, a labour of love it could be described as. With the addition of the final details such as the scoreboard and other advertisements surrounding the pitch, the 1993 variant of Burnden Park was finally completed at 11pm UK Time. This now leaves the 1969 variant of the ground (which won't have the superstore with it, don't worry 😂👍)  to be completed later this week on a YouTube Live Stream.

In terms of what the conversion will involve, I've noted down all of the changes that need to be made:

- Addition of the railway line behind the Embankment, along with an old-fashioned scoreboard which I saw in a few images.
- Replacement of some of the signage adorning the Manchester Road and Burnden Stands.
- Complete replacement of the rooftop signage above the Lever End.
- Addition of a clock and additional signage to the Burnden Paddock.
- Removal of the Executive Boxes at the top of the Manchester Road Stand
- Completion of the remainder of the Embankment, including the entry gates on the western flank.
- Replacement of the Floodlights.

The pictures I am showcasing show the stadium minutes after it was completed.Recreating Burnden Park in Minecraft in time for the 75th anniversary of the disaster Minecr20

Good crowd on that day. Must be against the Rags in 1963.
That little bloke up front was destined to be the world's highest paid Trade Union official.
Big Wyn (back to camera) would later get a job on the production line at Warbies.

BURNDEN PARK COMPLETE (February 20, 2021)

Following yesterday's 9.5 hour "The Final Day" stream on the 1969 Rendition of Burnden Park, the stadium was officially declared complete at 12:03 this morning. It brings to an end 2 months of work on creating a fitting memorial and tribute to the 33 Bolton Wanderers supporters who lost their lives on 9th March 1946, the 75th anniversary of which is less than 3 weeks away. Understandably it's left me feeling rather overwhelmed by how much this means not only to myself, but to every other Bolton Wanderers supporter out there... and due not just to the disaster but also how much it means as our spiritual home.

I will spend the next couple of weeks putting the video together in time for the anniversary, and I'd like everyone's suggestions as to what to include so this can be done properly and professionally. Once more I want to thank each and every individual who has supported me throughout this project, and every other project I've done. I feel really humbled by it and I wouldn't be doing these builds if it wasn't for your continued support, so thank you so so much! #BWFC
