Something similar happened to me.
A couple of years ago I was offered some bridging work on a tooth which would have cost, in total, about 200 quid. So I asked how much an extraction would cost - 25 quid. As the tooth was a front tooth, and was very near the back and as such wouldn't been seen, I went for the extraction. Saved myself a hell of a lot of pain and money!!!

When you lose a tooth and it's not at the end of a row as a wisdom tooth is, the teeth either side of the one that's gone can then come loose and cause problems. That's why there is always a reluctance to remove teeth by a proper dentist, not to make money!

Hope it gets fixed on Monday Sluffy. Toothache is bad although my wife insists that giving birth is more painful.

Thanks xmiles - yes I had it filled.
They wanted to put a crown on it and told me that if I didn't the filling would not hold and soon fall out - surprise, surprise - 7 months later and its still fine.
I hate the money grabbing bastards - I'm sure most people would do what the dentist says - thinking they are being cared for - rather than having their teeth unnecessarily messed with so the dentist can earn as much money as they can.
Its disgraceful really - they should be saving teeth not maximising their income.

Anybody try the old tying a length of cotton round the tooth and to the door knob, then somebody would slam the door shut for you.
The tooth would have to be loose mind.
