Red Kites (the bird not the thing on the end of a long peice of string!).

Maybe they've always been about my neck of the woods but with hardly driving anymore and going on walks instead I see them everywhere in the sky, even over town centre areas.

Mushrooms.

I've always liked mushrooms and happy to have them when dining out but for some reason I've never seemed to bother much with buying them for home cooking.

With the advent of Covid and my desire to start to eat a bit more healthly than the often 'take away' routine I had fallen into and having a bit more time on my hands to home cook than I previously had, I seem to add them to most meals now.

Apparently they contain vitamin D which is allegedly helpful in fighting off Covid too, but that's just a side benefit if they do, I simply eat them because I like them.

What things have you discovered/rediscovered since coronavirus came and paid us a visit?

I've always been an avid reader, but the internet, and life in general, has limited me over recent years, so being stuck in the house has allowed me to reconnect with the joys of a mug of tea, a comfy chair, and a good book.
A bit of escapism can do you the world of good. Read any good books recently, Bob?
Treasure Island?
Tax And The Single Girl?
Brambly Hedge Fund?
Or perhaps the biography of a wartime German shopkeeper, A Hun At The Till?  Things you've discovered/rediscovered during lockdowns? 1f601

I've discovered a lot more breweries to order online from, does that count?

As long as they don't come in kiddie sized pop cans. Very Happy

More than anything, I’ve discovered how much I miss “normal life”. I’ve done some of the same stuff in a different way - seeing friends via zoom calls and our weekly quiz, doing Pilates via online classes rather than in person, walking a lot more etc but the last few days have really hit home how much I’ve missed socialising in person.
First footie game on Friday- nearly killed me and I was aching all the next day but I loved it. First pints last night - cold when the sun went down but there was a buzz in the town. Today I’m really missing my home music studio. I’ve occasionally picked up my acoustic guitar during lockdown but now I’m gagging to get back to recording and with the building work almost complete we should be moving into the new house in a fortnight and I can set up then.

During lockdown it felt like “just getting on with stuff” and keeping me and the family sane. Now it feels like I can start to get back to doing the things I love.

I miss driving,  ( I don't count just to the shops), and travelling/flying, and warm countries.
