If you could only pick one of the following four, who would you pick and why are they are more worthy than the others?

I actually don't think this is an easy choice myself, so I will give an opt out answer of Ian 'Evans' Evatt as the manager instead!

1 - Doyle with his goals

2 -Santos and Baptiste at the back

3 - Lee and MJ the January signings turned or season completely around.

4 - Crellin for being so bad (no harm meant, just that it clearly wasn't his time yet) that forced Gilks to play in goal instead.

Anybody brave enough to go for one of the four and with reasobs why?

Gilks -
Not only saved our goalkeeping situation but has been the on-field manager. Organizing and shouting from the back -  turned the whole defense around IMO.

I'd go with Gilks as well. His marshalling of the troops meant we had two coaches shout instructions throughout, but from the same playbook. The confidence grew from his performances and we built on that.

Hard to choose, but I thought Baptiste had a brilliant season, going from strength to strength, and finishing on a high.

GILKS.

Crawley scored yesterday and with minutes to go he was still bollocking his defence for their slackness.

Santos and Baptiste for me, how many games in the last few months have we won 1-0? They've played a massive part in us going up and Santos is player of the year by a mile.

I’d also go for Gilks who has given confidence to his defenders, especially Santos and Baps, that they just didn’t get from Crellin. For me Baps over Santos because Rico has learned so much from having Baps at the side of him and Gilks behind him. I was much against Baps initially but have to admit I was wrong and he’s been pure class since January.

Cannot pick one from the Holy Trinity... when Gilks came in he made Santos and Baps so much better with his on field coaching.  So, here's a vote for the three of them... they were the reason we could win with one goal scored.

I liked lots of them TBH but the best surprise for me was the development of George Thomason. He has a lot to learn but he has so many attributes giving him the potential to be great some day.
Excellent work rate, gets stuck in like Williams, decent control, looks for the pass and has a good shot on him.
Needs to work on a few things but he's been great so far.

Wander, of all of us on this forum, I believe your comments about the team towards the end of the season have been the best, and most accurate overall. Well done !

Its good to see that when you aren't arguing, you're quite a smart footie pundit   (However, I'm quite sure that in the closed season you'll be talking shit again) Very Happy

You've obviously not followed his work on the portal on match days Glos, he's never happy on there  Laughing

Of course not Nat, but I do have an odd sense of humour. I thought many of his comments were really good.

More accurate than mine?

I predicted defeats against Grimsby & Exeter. I deserve a prize.

I've always thought you were the prize worth winning Nat. Nothing else comes close  Very Happy

Statistically likely given that you predicted defeats in every game Smile

That's very kind of you to say so Glos - my ego overfloweth Smile

Don't forget, we still have the playoffs and 2 European finals before the Euros start so there won't be much of a "closed season" this year and there will be plenty of opportunity to blather about footie.

No doubt England will raise our hopes and dash them again and no doubt I'll be talking shit as I'm not at all sure how Southgate will play it given the embarrassment of riches at his disposal.

Nerves mate.  I've seen us play before so it's pretty difficult to be happy until it's over.
Must say I've never had you down as a happy clapper either TBH (I'm assuming the Exeter game was a hiccup Smile)

I'm usually a pessimist when it come to BWFC but i knew we had it in the bag.
