Emmanuelle the Queen of soft porn is dead.

Sylvia Kristel died today aged just 60.

Back in the mid 1970's she became world famous for her screen roles as Emmanuelle, the films that made soft porn become somewhat respectable.

Watch the films these days and you wonder what all the fuss was about but back then it was hot stuff and that was all you had apart from the dirty mags - no internet porn (or even dvd porn) in those days.

A whole generation knew who Emmanuelle was - she wasn't particularly beautiful nor were the films much good really, but she was the first to make soft porn become more acceptable to the general public as part of rolling back the staid Victorian values of the Mary Whitehouse era.

Whether it was a good thing or a bad think is besides the point - societies attitudes and norms changed and film censorship became more relaxed and attuned to peoples wishes.

RIP Emmannuelle (Sylvia Kristel).

Born in Utrecht and died yesterday in Amsterdam from cancer - from what I read she was suffering from 3 types of cancer, and at a young age as well. Although she did admit, when she was younger hse had a very bad cocaine habit, and just imagine how much she smoked as well - which was, in those days, percieved as okay.

I have wanked over her.
