Back to 4 today

4 again.

Awful!
5 for me today - got no letters in the first two attempts, sorted out the vowel situation in the 3rd and picked the wrong one of two options in the 4th. Tortuous.

Another 4.

4 for me today, the previous 2 ones have been tough, only managed to get them on the last go.

Anyone tried Nerdle yet? I had one go and gave up! Its based around numbers and working out a sum but i think i'll stick with Wordle.

My daughter has told me about Quordle which is doing four puzzles at once.

I've tried it and got the knack of doing them in 4,5,6 and 7 goes but I don't find it the same fun as Wordle.

I might try Nerdle when I'm in the mood for it but I'm currently all Wordle and Quorled out for now!

Just tried it and once you've determined where the = goes it's a process of elimination - did it in 4. A bit like sorting the vowels in Wordle.

Got a bit lucky how my letters fell from the first two goes.

Fair play to you getting a 3 with such few clues - I doubt I would have been able to do.

I've hit a milestone today (Thursday) with my thousandth go (I've missed the odd few days here and there).

Once you get into the swing of it you can always nearly work out the answer within the six goes.

At one time the NY Times allowed you to see the stats of how people did on a daily basis - and nearly everyone (about 98% of people) managed to complete the daily Wordle (they've now put the stats behind a paywall).

It certainly helps a lot that the daily word is usually one that you've heard of and not some obscure one that you used to find on the TV quiz programme Call My Bluff (if people are old enough to remember it?).

It took me 5 goes to get it today, I thought it was a bit harder than usual but still a word everybody will know (I'm not giving any clues out by the way - just normal chatting).

If you've not played for a while, then have a go and beat my answer in 5.

I do it everyday on my dinner break, my average is 4 guesses.

I'm quite surprised this is still going. I thought it was some fad that died out.

I do Wordle, Connections (on same website as wordle), duotrigordle, waffle, octordle and blossom at dinner time to keep the old grey matter ticking over.

When I first started to play the game I tried to get the answer as quick as I could and have an average under 4 guesses but occasionally that strategy bit me on the bum especially when you get most of the letters but realise you can still make say four different words with the letters you have left but only three goes to get the answer in.

I then took a different strategy of using goes to eliminate such circumstances but increase my average to over 4 and that's how I've played ever since.

I got it in 5 today fwiw.
