Not impressed with that today. Got it in 3 but hesitated a long time as it is not the English spelling of the word and I'm not a fan of Americanisms.
I just checked and the inventor of Wordle is actually a Brit so there's no excuse.

Yip did exactly the same and got it in 3.
I didn't read the thread first because people are giving too many clues away but I had heard previously about americanised spellings so when I couldn't fit anything in with the four letters I had already obtained from my first two attempts I tried a word that way and it was correct.

Saw it after 2 had no hesitation in completing it in 3 today.
Now 22 hours until the next one which is annoying.

Phew just did it on go 6.
I just could seem to see it today and ended up having to use a word from the letters I hadn't used already on my fourth and fifth goes until I got the key letter for me to solve it.

Why is everyone playing this? What's going on? How can I cheat?

You will only be cheating yourself Bonce. It’s a straightforward 5 min game.

It is and they do.
The reason why I mentioned it was that today the link had changed from powerlanguage.co.uk (see the link from the opening post) and diverted to nytimes.com and I had to agree/disagree to NYT's cookies.
It still carried my stats forward though.

A struggle but I got it in 5 in the end.
I got a lot of the letters early but could find how they fitted together for quite a while.
