Ian Evatt is delighted with the competition in the Wanderers squad ahead of Saturday’s trip to Morecambe.
Tuesday night’s win against Cambridge was the first of eight games in February for the Whites, but Evatt feels they are well-equipped to handle their busy fixture list after bringing in seven new signings in the January window.
The Bolton boss also confirmed there are no new injury concerns ahead of this weekend’s trip to the Mazuma Stadium.
He said: “I think there’s one or two tired bodies but other than that, we’re okay.”
“We’ve got a squad of players that are all chomping at the bit and ready to play and make an impression, especially the new ones, so we’ve got decisions to make.
“We’ll take each game as it comes really and see the opponents, see strengths and weaknesses, and pick a team accordingly.”
New signings Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Kieran Sadlier came off the bench on Tuesday night, and Evatt is pleased to have more options at his disposal.
“Obviously before we just didn’t have the options off the bench,” he added. “Now if Plan A isn’t working, we’ve got Plan B, C, D sat on the bench really and we can affect games from there.
“But I’m pleased with where we’re at. We’ve got lots of hard work to go but the boys are really bouncing at the moment.”
Xavier Amaechi featured in a reserves game against Burnley this afternoon after recovering from a hamstring injury.
“I haven’t seen him since but as he walked off, I had a quick chat with him and he seemed alright,” said Evatt.
“He just needs some sharpness. The energy is good – it’s just football fitness more than anything.”
The Bolton boss also confirmed that Kieran Lee is available for the weekend after missing Tuesday night’s game.
“He’s trained really well," said Evatt.
