Is it me not understanding things but if a 'white' footballers' association was set up wouldn't people be screaming racism?

What's the difference then?

A leading human rights barrister has said talks over a separate black footballers' association have begun.

Peter Herbert, who chairs the Society of Black Lawyers and helped set up a Black Police Association, says the discussions are at a preliminary stage.

Herbert says the new organisation would provide a more "radical" and "vigorous" approach to combating racism.

Professional Footballers' Association chairman Clarke Carlisle warned a new group could have a divisive effect.

Herbert said players from various levels of the game, including the Premier League, were involved in discussions. The working title for the proposed body is the Black Players' Association.

He added that John Terry's abuse of Anton Ferdinand and Luis Suarez's abuse of Patrice Evra last season, along with the alleged racist abuse of England Under-21 player Danny Rose in Serbia, were a trigger for black players to come forward and attempt to form the group.

"People appear to have decided they have to do something more vigorously," Herbert said.

"What we are seeking to do for the individuals is to have that protection so they are not on their own or faced with a barrage of pressure from the media, from their clubs or the FA, but have the support of the whole community of the UK - and that includes the legal community."

Surely forming a black PFA would be a backwards step, next thing they will want their own team bus. It's like Rosa Parks in reverse.

The same thing happened in the Police. The coppers don't have a union but they have a federation which represents rank and file coppers up to the rank of Chief Inspector.

A few years ago a few radicals broke away and formed BAPA ( Black and Asian Police Association ) . They received their own funding but a large number of black officers refused to join it because they saw the leaders as rabble rousers. Think of Ali Dezai and it all becomes clear. They even had their own ' lawyer ' to advise on legal matters, a certain Sean Mireskandari, who wasn't even a qualified lawyer.

Following on from that the Jewish Police officers formed their own group which they called JAP.( Jewish Association of Police)

It's basically a crock of shit. Any bell end with a perceived grievance can break away and set up their own little Fiefdom.

this just goes farther to prove my theory that 'racism' (not in the literal sense, obviously) only exists to assist minority's with gaining extra rights/benefits etc...

It is correct that if a 'white Christian police/footballers etc association was started - there would be total uproar...

Would it be racist by the FA if they never acknowledge the BPFA and they only recognise the official PFA!!! Now that would cause a storm. If the BPFA did get going I can see many problems ahead in teh game and would definitely rip apart the British game.

The FA should stand firm if anything like this takes off and simply refuse to recognise it as part of the game. Just because it is a racial issue does not mean it should get any special treatment or recognition above what is already in place.
