Wanderers made it back-to-back wins in League One following a 3-1 victory against 10-man Accrington Stanley.

Dapo Afolayan opened the scoring but the visitors hit back through Jay Rich-Baghuelou after the break.

Jon Dadi Bodvarsson bagged a brace after coming off the bench, while Rosaire Longelo was shown a straight red card for a reckless challenge on Aaron Morley.

Here are four key takeaways from the game.

Who’s the Dadi?

Bodvarsson made a big impact after coming off the bench, firing Wanderers to victory with a couple of clinical finishes.

The Iceland international has now scored three goals in his last five appearances for the Whites and is looking like a fantastic addition to the squad.

Evatt had to be patient with the forward given his lack of playing time at Millwall during the first half of the season.

But he is now back to his best and looks set to be a big player next season as the Whites aim to continue their climb up the divisions.

Amaechi fails to make his mark

Amaechi was given a third start of the season as Evatt opted to rotate his front line following Friday’s win at Doncaster.

The winger has lots of potential but has failed to really get going since his loan move from Hamburg last summer due to a couple of unfortunate injuries.

Amaechi showed a few nice touches against the Reds but struggled to make his mark on the game at times, which was probably to be expected given his lack of playing time this season.

It will be interesting to see whether Wanderers try to bring the former Arsenal youngster back to the UniBol next season once his loan expires.

Charles' goal drought continues

Charles has now gone 13 games for club and country since his last goal – a composed strike against Wimbledon back in February.

The Northern Ireland international wasted a big opportunity to score against his former club during the first half, dragging wide after beating the offside trap.

Every striker goes through goal droughts but Charles is still contributing to the team with his relentless pressing – never giving defenders a moment’s peace.

Moreover, the way Bodvarsson and Amadou Bakayoko have stepped up in recent weeks bodes well for the future.

Promising signs for next season

Wanderers are now unbeaten in their last six matches and are building real momentum heading into their final matches of the campaign.

It has been a very positive first season back in League One for Evatt’s men, who have ultimately been cost a place in the top six by their poor run before Christmas amid a brutal injury crisis.

Evatt has already stressed that promotion is the goal next term, and there seems to be cause for optimism around the UniBol.

Moreover, having a full pre-season at the club could have a big impact on the likes of Bodvarsson, Charles and Sadlier following their arrivals in the January transfer window.
