Rangers have been linked with a transfer move this summer for Bolton Wanderers star Dapo Afolayan.

The 24-year-old attacker has had a great season in front of goal, finding the back of the net 14 times for Wanderers this campaign and has been the club's top scorer. He was also crowned the club's player of the season, which was his first full one in men's professional football.

Work is now fully under way at Wanderers preparing for next season, with the squad due to report back for pre-season training on June 17. The new campaign in League One then kicks off over the weekend of July 30.

With his performances out on the pitch has inevitably seen interest from other sides. Fulham and Cardiff have reportedly looked at Afolayan, though the Bluebirds have played down any links.

The player has two years left on the deal he signed last summer after joining the club on a permanent basis after departing West Ham United. It followed a successful loan spell from the Premier League club in the second half of the 2020/21 campaign.

Now, according to journalist Alan Nixon, Scottish giants Rangers are reported to be lining up a move for the Bolton star. His value is said to be £1.5m.
