Funny one this. Vale are newly promoted via the playoffs and nobody expects them to set League 1 on fire, but they made a good start by beating Fleetwood at home on the opening day, coming back from a goal down. Then they went away to another promoted team Exeter City and got pumped 4 nil.
Are Vale really crap or are Exeter - who beat Cheltenham 7 nil tonight in the cup - good?
I reckon none of those teams will trouble the scorers at the end of the season, but this is one of those potential banana skin games I hate. Theoretically we should beat them, even though it's at their ground, but we have to make it happen on the day.
I'm sure Jamie Proctor would like to score a goal or two against us, but I have a bit more confidence in our defence than I had last season and barring monumental cock ups or complacency we should be fine. Our players have to remember that beating Vale at Vale Park is worth exactly the same as beating Sheff W in front of 30k fans at Hillsborough and should apply themselves accordingly.
If they do I'm thinking Vale 0 BWFC 3.
