Wanderers are on course for one of their biggest home crowds since dropping out of the Premier League a decade ago.
It is reported that more than 23,000 tickets have now been sold for the visit of Derby County on December 27, which would already place it fourth on the list despite it also being shown live on Sky.
The biggest crowd to watch Bolton since their relegation from the top flight was against Blackpool in May 2013 when Dougie Freedman’s side failed to get the victory they needed to clinch a play-off spot.
Leicester City secured a position in the top six at Wanderers’ expense and three years later went on to win the Premier League title.

April 3, 2018: Bolton Wanderers 0-1 Birmingham City.
Old boy Lukas Jutkiewicz did the damage for Birmingham with a first-half goal, and Phil Parkinson’s side could not get back into the game despite Che Adams getting a red card midway through the second half.
Crowd: 21,097.
August 20, 2022: Bolton Wanderers 0-2 Sheffield Wednesday.
A mad five minutes cost Wanderers dearly as moments after a bad miss from Conor Bradley they fell behind to a goal from George Byers. Moments later, more poor defending let in Liam Palmer for the second.
Crowd: 22,023.

Mamady Sidibe scored the only goal of the game for the Owls as Dougie Freedman’s team dropped closer to the bottom three. Martin Petrov, Benik Afobe and David Ngog all missed big chances during the game.

Promotion was secured on the final day of the season as Phil Parkinson’s side basked in the sunshine to record a comfortable win. Jem Karacan, David Wheater and Adam Le Fondre scored the goals on a memorable afternoon.

Emile Heskey came off the bench to score on his Bolton debut – assisted by fellow veteran Eidur Gudjohnsen - in a joyous derby victory for Neil Lennon’s side in 2014.
Joshua King had opened the scoring for Rovers but once Heskey had equalised, Darren Pratley grabbed a winner on the hour.
Crowd: 23,303.
April 1, 2017: Bolton Wanderers 0-0 Chesterfield.
Tickets had been reduced and the fans flocked in to see Phil Parkinson’s side take a step towards promotion. But it proved a frustrating day with little goalmouth action and many had already filed for the exits by the time Jon Nolan received an injury time red card.
Crowd: 23,376.

Wanderers fought back from two goals down but fans couldn’t hide their disappointment that Dougie Freedman’s team had not got into the play-offs in their first season back in the Championship.
The Whites had been the form team in the division – but a curious decision to play untested winger Rob Hall from the start proved a poor one for the Bolton boss, with his players looking nervous as they fell behind to goals from Matt Phillips and Ludovic Sylvestre.
Chris Eagles and Craig Davies brought Bolton back level, and it was one-way traffic in the second half. But as Leicester pipped Nottingham Forest in the East Midlands, Bolton’s inability to get a third goal would mean their expensive gamble to sustain a big wage bill after relegation would backfire.
