TEAM NEWS: Victor Adeboyejo having scan ahead of Morecambe trip 16457789

Wanderers are waiting on the results of a scan to determine the extent of Victor Adeboyejo’s injury.

Adeboyejo limped off against Port Vale last weekend and did not feature against Portsmouth in midweek.

Evatt is hopeful it is just an impact injury but isn’t prepared to take any risks with the forward, who scored his first Bolton goal against the Valiants.

“Victor’s is a bit of a strange one,” the manager explained. “On Saturday, we all thought it was a bit of a hefty bang into the hamstring and more of a dead leg. He warmed up fine and was ready to play before the game.

“On his last shot, he felt a bit of a twinge in the same place so we decided not to take the risk just in case because we cant afford to lose him for any length of time.

“He is actually in the scanner now so fingers crossed that comes back just being a dead leg, and then that clears everything up and we can crack on with him. But I won’t have the answer to that until probably later on tonight.”

Evatt also confirmed there are no fresh injury concerns following Tuesday night’s trip to Fratton Park.

Meanwhile, Cameron Jerome has continued to make progress but might not be back in action until next weekend’s clash with Ipswich.

The experienced forward, who joined from Luton during the January window, has missed several games with a back issue.

“He is improving all the time,” Evatt added. “He still has a tiny bit of inflammation round one of the lower joints in his back.

“He has been to see a chiropractor. He is definitely improving but whether he improves enough to be involved at the weekend, I’m not sure. Certainly, next week he will be back training and ready for Ipswich.”

George Thomason played over an hour for the B Team earlier this week – his first outing since dislocating his knee and also tearing a ligament back in January.

MJ Williams and George Johnston are also making progress with their respective recoveries, while Jack Iredale and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson are long-term absentees.
