Joel Coleman faces a few weeks on the side-lines at Wanderers after damaging his ankle in a training ground accident.
Ian Evatt has confirmed that the goalkeeper missed Saturday’s 2-0 win at Charlton Athletic with a twisted ankle sustained the day before the game.
The Bolton boss explained that Coleman – who had only recently returned from an ankle problem which kept him out for a month – had picked up the injury only moments before the final training session.
“We were doing some shooting at the end of training on Friday and even Rico was practising his finishing – he went to try and chip Joel and as he backpedalled to make the save, he stood on one of the loose balls and twisted his ankle,” Evatt explained.
“It was an unlucky and unfortunate one but hopefully it is not too bad and he will be back for us in two or three weeks.”
B team regular Luke Hutchinson was called up to replace him on the bench at The Valley. The 21-year-old was called back from a loan spell with Hyde United earlier this season to deputise for Nathan Baxter after Coleman’s initial injury.
The highly rated youngster has also spent time on loan with Atherton Colls, Radcliffe and Bamber Bridge in the past.
