Carlos Mendes Gomes is set to return to Wanderers later this week after representing Guinea-Bissau at the African Cup of Nations.
The side failed to qualify for the knockout rounds after being drawn in a tough group with the likes of Ivory Coast and Nigeria.
Guinea-Bissau are set to play their final group fixture this evening before Gomes returns to the UK.
There had also been some illness in the Bolton camp ahead of their trip to Leyton Orient but that has now cleared up.
“We suffered with some cold and flu last week but that has cleared up now,” said Ian Evatt. “Randell (Williams) is also in a better place than he was last week too.
“Carlos will play his last game today (Monday) and then should be back with us on Thursday.”
Gethin Jones has also been away representing Australia in the Asian Cup and Graham Arnold’s side have already booked their place in the next stage.
The Wanderers vice-captain played the full 90 minutes in the victories against India and Syria, and the Socceroos are yet to concede in the competition.
Meanwhile, Will Forrester remains sidelined with a hamstring issue and George Johnston and Dan Nlundulu are both long-term absentees.
There are no fresh injury concerns from Saturday’s defeat at Leyton Orient, but Evatt admits there was plenty of frustration in the camp.
“We are disappointed with what we saw on Saturday,” he continued. “Having said that, I have watched the game back without the emotion.
“We didn’t play very well, there is no denying that, but we still had the best two chances of the game and could have easily still come away with something, and should have done.
“For us, it has been an honest conversation and we spoke about why it happened. It is now our job to respond in the right way.
“I think it is important that we do discuss it and show the players what we wanted, why we wanted it, what the players executed incorrectly and showing them the right solutions and right pathway.
“It was just a conversation around how on Tuesday (against Luton) we played ever so well, where there was probably a huge ceiling, and then the drop off in three days was just incredible.
“We cannot have that inconsistency. Even in some games, where it is not going to be nice and attractive, we still have to find the level of performance, and we didn’t find it on Saturday.”
