Next up is Carlisle away who beat us 3-1 at the Reebok back in October.

On paper another game we should win easy, Carlisle being next to bottom and having lost their last three games.

However injuries, suspensions, players away on international duty and fatigue setting in seems to be effecting us right now, so it might not be the stroll in the park that we may want the game to be.

I see that old boy Josh Vela has just been signed by Carlisle and may well play against us today.

Hope he ends up on the losing side of course.

What do you lot think?

Carlisle 1-1 Bolton

After our slight win against Cheltenham midweek I’m not feeling too confident!

At least the weather looks much better today. Our style of play doesn’t seem suited to high winds or lots of rain.
I’m going for a comfortable 0-2 away win.

The lad checked and saw that I had made a banner for him, so he scored to celebrate!

Ruined my 3-1 prediction, but I'll let him off. Very Happy

Normal service has resumed - Complete dominance for 80% of the game. You are baffled as to how we managed to lose at home to this lot.
Anyhow, Sheehan MOM again. Running the show in the middle allowing Demps & Mags to roam.
We saw about 5 minutes of the new lad and I saw some quick feet and a few passes. What I liked about his goal was that he never had a thought of passing it into the box for someone else to have a do. That sort of confidence could do us well going forward. Regarding Mags as I have commented before - when he wants to play he breezes past people like they are not there - it's an untapped talent. Consistency is his problem.
Onwards...

Most of the first half Carlisle couldn't get near the ball but it seemed to me that there were signs in the last few minutes of the half that they might nick a goal back and it would then be game on.

It was a different story after the break. They were making all the running and looked like they might well get back into the game and eventually they did. Dion had continued to chase and put Carlisle defenders under pressure but Victor was winning nothing and seemed quite incapable of any effective control.

It was crying out for a change up front but Evatt delayed it until Carlisle got the goal back they deserved. When the change did eventually come we could have had a hatfull.

The change yesterday was needed at least ten minutes before it happened and Bod is clearly a quality player at this level. It all seems a bit odd to me.

Still a bit miffed at how the Carlisle throw that resulted in their goal, was taken 30 yards further up the pitch. What was the lino doing?
