Seems him and Blackpool's Tom Ince are on their way to Liverpool in January - unless of course Freedman can hi-jack the deal.

Liverpool are closing in on the signings of Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge and Blackpool winger Thomas Ince.

England forward Sturridge, 23, is expected to cost in the region of £12m.

Ince left Anfield 18 months ago under previous manager Kenny Dalglish but is set to move back for £6m.

Neither player has finalised personal terms but Liverpool are hopeful both deals can be completed in the first few days of the January transfer window.

Ince is a cracking little player, Sturrridge on the other hand is over rated since he left us and thinks he is better than he actually is IMO.

Ince has great potential, only Liverpool would stump up £6m for a player they had on their books 18 months ago.

Sturridge is vastly overated and will be a disaster.

Sturridge needs to be the 'main man' to be successful, playing on his ego and playing him through the middle he'd get a hatful of goals.

Selfish and not that good of an all round player, but get him in the right frame of mind and playing in the right system I think he will be very successful.

He'd be best at a club our size or West Ham for instance.

I would've thought Tom Ince would be setting his sights a little higher than signing for a mid table club like Liverpool!

Sturridge going there is a no brainer though, there would be no competition at all for his place in the starting XI.

When Brendan Rodgers said Liverpool could finish 2nd I thought he meant in the league but I now think he meant every game.

He is a quality player.

I was surprised at just how good he was at playing "in the hole" when he was here.

Yeah, when things aren't going right though he is prone to selfishness but a lot of good players are tbh.

You never know at Liverpool tbh.

City have more than their fair share of forwards. I also think Sturridge has ego issues and even if by some weird set of circumstances he came to us, if he did anything half decent he'd be off in a flash.

To be fair he did a lot of growing up when he was last at Bolton, but I do believe, like some have said already, that he thinks he is bigger than what he actually is, nowadays!!!

The chances of Sturridge coming to us are about as high as us and Bury winning our Leauges.

Sturridge has quality, but hes doesn't get enough game time.
