It would actually be a decent loan (never buy him again though). I wouldn't mind seeing what Elmander has to offer when not playing for Megson or Coyle.

He was shite, and the amount of effort he put in on the pitch has been massively overblown since he left.
He would be worse than N'gog.
He didn't have technical skill, shooting ability and won't have any pace.
The only good thing he ever did was that goal against Wolves, and im still not sure it was entirely intentional.

The same as he would have offered under those 2 managers.

He still takes a keen interest in how we are doing. I reckon he'd join if we tried

You don't know that. Elmo showed some good stuff when he was here (although I agree it wasn't often enough). He's done well at other clubs and on the international scene. So without Mr Personality and clueless, without a club record transfer fee on his head and playing at a lower level. He might actually thrive on a loan spell here.
The Elmo saga has always felt like unfinished business to me. I'd like to see him get one last chance here to prove he isn't as useless as some Bolton fans seem to think he is.

Agree with that entirely. We have a bad habit at Bolton of turning on our own. look at the shit that Kevin Nolan got- I'd have him back tomorrow. But he's now too good a player for us. Elmander got it and SKD gets it as wellLt. Boon wrote:Reebok_Rebel wrote:Lt. Boon wrote:It would actually be a decent loan (never buy him again though). Id Jizz in my pants if we got the goal machine back.
Lazy as fuck, but his finish was sublime!

Klasnic wasn't lazy, he was player who had medical problems and couldn't play 90 minutes but had one heck of an eye for goal when he was on the pitch. I'd have him back as well!

But Elmander has never been good, whilst Nolan (who we got decent money for) and Kev (who most realise has been an outstanding player for us) have.
Hes not exactly set Galatasaray on fire.

Come on LL, you know that's not fair. He had some good times for us and scored and created some great goals. He just wasn't consistant (a problem a few players seem to have when playing for Bolton).
From what I've seen, he's looked good at Galatasaray as well.

Marc Iles has reported back from Dougie Freedman's press conference with the latest on Medo Kamara who is at Euxton to hopefully finalise his move.. Freedman has said the deal is "very close" and it would be an "absolute steal" to get him on board.

I wouldn't have Nolan back in the first team, his overall contribution is dreadful he still can't pass or move. You ask West Ham fans who go games they have the same gripes we did about him towards the end, spends half his time shouting at people and not doing anything himself. Good business selling Nolan but he's a match of the day player who really isn't all that.

So...
Realistically - still no closer to actually signing than he was 24 hours ago.
A total non-story.

This is definitely the most exciting transfer deadline day we've had in a long time!

I doubt another manager is going to storm onto our training ground and pull him away, hes ours, hes there to sign.
I don't know how a transfer thats taken a single day can be moaned about for being too slow.

More from Marc Iles at the Wanderers press conference on possible exits.....
Just need to dot the i's and cross the t's on both kamara & Bolger deals.
Also wait for international clearance.
Dougie Freedman has admitted there is continued interest in Marcos Alonso from several clubs but he remains at the club - for now.
Freedman has hinted that he may have to search for a late replacement at left-back if anything happens with regards the Spaniard moving on.
