For once I voted for Coyle - for getting the players to produce a really gutsy "proud-to-wear-the-shirt" performance. Plus he used Ngog well (must have run miles!) and substituted him at the right time (absolutely knackered I imagine).

Our players were outclassed in most areas of the pitch, but they showed real heart, determination and team spirit. Muamba and Reo-Coker were magnificent and those 2 didn't let Arsenal settle for a minute. Lots of missed tackles, but they stopped Arsenal from getting any kind of rhythm going.

Only disappointment for me was Mavies - not because of how he played, but because of his diving - which a) I never like to see and b) cost us the penalty we could (perhaps) have had at the death.

I'm not sure Mavies dived. His shirt was clearly being pulled, albeit outside the box, by Mertesacker. I'm impressed by his willingness to get in the box and create chances. A draw was a fair result but it would have been nice to steal all 3 points.

You're right about the pen appeal but I was referring to the blatant dive for the free kick earlier in the game. Ref realised he'd been conned and had a word with Mavies at the half time whistle. If he hadn't conned the ref earlier he might have had a better chance with the pen appeal late on IMO.
