Sick of these big clubs f@cking things up for us.

I don't remember them playing like this against Shitty.

Wigan are good mind. I wish we had Victor Moses. Oh actually it wouldn't make a difference as Coyle would never play him.

We should have kept him for his impeccable time-wasting abilities, if nothing else.

It makes you wonder why the hell they're where they are. They do this every year.

It's been a while since I saw an English team do that much timewasting mind!

Did anyone notice that Wenger didn't shake Martinez's hand at the end ? Very disrespectful. You can't fault Wigan's effort and will to win. They are a credit to the north west. The southern jessies should hang their heads in shame. Gunners ? My arse has fired a better salvo than that performance tonight.

Fair play to Wigan and Martinez.

Martinez had clearly thought through how he wanted to set the team up after a dire first half to the season, identified who he needed to bring in (the S American from Birmingham) and got him in January.

Wigan went with 3 at the back from then out, playing with wing backs - and they have reaped the benefits.

Compare that with Coyle who had a dire first half of the season playing 4-4-2 and continued to play it throughout the transfer window and beyond and instead of identifying someone to fill the Holden role for the second half of the season, opted instead to buy a striker and then not play him much.

We get what we deserve I suppose.

Hope Wigan stay up now, they deserve too.

Wigan are playing like they give a toss, and we aren't (half of them are out of contract in July, what do they care?), but it also comes down to quality.

Wigan have players in midfield that can make it difficult for opposing teams to attack. We don't. A lot of people think ReoCoker does a good job at this but I don't. Not consistently enough anyway.
These midfielders have players ahead of them that are able to not only control and hold up the ball, but to run at opposing defenders with pace and trickery. We don't. Ngog can do the former, but comes up extremely short with the latter.
We don't have a touch of quality in the final third (even Mark Davies has been bollocks in recent weeks) meaning we aren't just struggling to keep the ball, but to do anything useful with it either.
We don't have a reliable means of scoring goals. We even created very little against QPR, Blackburn and Wolves.

I think Wigan deserve every credit. Beating Liverpool at Anfield, United at the DW and Arsenal at the Emirates three matches on the trot is certainly not relegation performance.

It's no coincidence that neither United nor Arsenal even looked like scoring against Wigan.

They challenge for everything and aren't easy to get the ball off themselves.

Wigan have been lucky with injuries. If their best two midfield players were off sick all season and their 6th best had a heart attack, they'd have gone down.Having said that Whelan would probably have found money to replace their best two midfielders.I mean proper money rather than enough for Eagles and Pratley.

The main difference between Wigan & Bolton is that Wigan have players who can keep the ball. Arsenal didn't get near the Wigan goal in the second half.

Martinez is a proper manager who buys good players, regardless of whether they're big names. Coyle buys Pratley & Ngog.

I love it how Wigan are being made out to be Holland circa 1974 and their manager a footballing genius on the back of a few good results. Nobody was coming out with any of this bollocks when they lost nine games in a row earlier in the season. Why do you think they've been rooted to the bottom third of the PL for about four years in a row? Bad refereeing decisions?

A decent counter argument. Not all Wigan fans have been fooled by this sudden improvement and not all of them are Martinez fans. If we beat Swansea and Villa we will be the next for all the positive gushing headlines.

I don thtink people are gsuhing and making out theyre Halland circa 1974

Its simply they have shown some fighting spirit and have had their rewards

Earlier in theh season they couldnt buy a goal

Their top 3 players were misfiring and now sem to have come into a bit of form

Wish we had their strikers instead of ngog etc

I wouldn't mind that Victor Moses. He can certainly run fast. Wigan have done their survival chances no harm with three top performances. Can't fault them for their fighting qualities and team spirit.

I just hope our lads can show some spirit as well.
