Good shout on Nick Powell, he isn't getting near the 1st team at united but looks one for the future.

Could be a loanee, but I like the idea of a has-been on contract rather than developing someone else's talent for them. If it's a loanee, can't see Villa parting with either of their two ATM although Powell could be a possibility. If we are going to help Manure they should throw in Scholes to sweeten the deal.

But I'm still thinking it will be an older British player with something to prove. Couldn't afford Bent or Lamppost but I'm thinking quality nonetheless.

Cardiff City striker Rob Earnshaw is to return early from his season-long loan with Israeli side Maccabi Tel Aviv.

But Bluebirds manager Malky Mackay says the 31-year-old Wales striker is unlikely to get any first-team games on his return.

And there is a possibility Earnshaw could be moved on in the January transfer window.

"I would imagine he will be looking to get games which is not something he is going to get [here]," said Mackay.

"I'm pretty sure him and his agent will be working hard this month to get something moving for him [at another club].

Sadly, he fulfills all the known criteria: Brit, something to prove, cheap.

Sounds like you're talking from personal experience here. Personally I'd like him to be Wesley Sneijder in this circumstance. If he signs, you can have him as your plaything on weekdays.

I think Davies is a done deal....and Earnshaw is a possibility as he's desperate and we're skint. But I so want it to be a defender. Apparently the Norwegian lad Nation can play FB as well as CB so at least that's a move in the right direction.

I'm hoping for Agbolanhor!
