Everybody else to blame says leaking cop

I'm paraphrasing slightly but even though she leaked confidential information it is not her fault. Boo hoo.

The NOTW will have covered their backs and will have had a separate slush fund for informants. Whatever amount they paid her it is unlikely to have been cash in a brown envelope.

Informants are like gold dust to reporters and newspapers are reluctant to give up informants identities so it's more likely that the Met have found records of the paper trail. The fact that the CPS have authorised the charge suggests to me that the buck stops with her. ( Most probably in her bank account.)

She was found guilty today of corruption in public office. Sentence delayed for 3 weeks but the judge has indicated she can expect a custodial sentence. She has a 3 year old son so that should go in her favour.

The judge sentenced her to 15 months today! Bet Beckie Brooks is nervous!
