Disaster if its true (I'm still hoping). The only player in our squad capable of filling in is a fit Holden and that sounds some way off. Just as it looked like we'd found a working team and formation as well.

Apparently the story is in todays Daily Mirror - but I can't find it on the online addition - but this is what Nixon as tweeted in the last hour -
Q - unable to get to a shop at the minute al, did the mavies news make the paper?
Nixon - Yes. Very bad news sadly. Cruciate damage. Rest of year ... Anyway, need to get over it fast. Lots at stake for rest of season.
Q - Will Dougie go to loan market becuase of this we never have any luck but it is made for someone to make themselves a hero.
Nixon - U were looking for one extra. Now u are looking for two if possible. Never known luck like it when it comes to midfielders.
Q - This is massive blow, can we assume one of the targets is a winger and the other a cm now?
Nixon - If u could find a Mavies type u would sign him on loan. But chance for young Vela to step up too.

Mavies looks to be an injury prone type .....that's all there is to it. You can never build a team around players like that. Ngog is another who has constant problems. Some players are just unlucky.

Barnsley tomorrow, Rovers on Tuesday, Brighton in 8 days time.
3 games that could make or break our season and no time to find another attacking central midfielder. Dougie is going to have to do some fancy dancing in training to sort out a team that will maintain our run. Either Holden or Vela will have to come good or he sticks Medo in front of the back 4 and pushes Spearing on a bit more.
It's going to be tough but I'm banking on Dougie to come up with the goods.

How can a professional footballer be so poorly conditioned.
The muscles in and around his knees should be more than able to cope with a twist. I've done it numerous times

It's nothing to do with conditioning.

Yes it is.
You can condition joints to be more flexible/stronger which is why pros never sprain ankles and rarely get an ACL. More focus should have been put into MD's conditioning, clearly

I went to see the specialist when my son did his ACL and apparently >95% of ACLs happen to people with a genetic condition that allows them to extend their leg beyong 180 degrees when straight (if that makes sense)
As they naturally over-extend, their leg is less stable when it rotates when planted.
That said, if some people are prone to it you'd think they'd do something to protect against it.

I've arranged many fights on Bolton forums.
Amos reported me to the police last time.
So I only arrange fights on Youtube these days.

It was me. That's what I was told. I haven't been banned although clearly I should be for listening to rubbish rumours.Hipster_Nebula wrote:Who was that person on here who said it wasn't serious.

However, when Holden, Medo, Vela and Eagles all step up in turn to fill the gap and our winning streak continues with victories against the 3 Bs, I will argue that Mavies injury wasn't in fact serious.

From the clubs Facebook site -
Mark Davies has been ruled out of action for up to ten months after damaging the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

The only thing I've seen about etuhu is a misprint on 'newsnow'
The headline is something like "etuhu to bolster trotters squad" but when you read it it's about Kevin etuhu of barnsley returning in time to face us tomorrow..
