Is Davies sulking?

I like most always perceived KD to be a likable, modest bloke who just got on with it.
But he was always in contention for a place under Freedman before his contract drama.
I credit Dougie for his decision to let Davies go in the summer, but not for ousting him from the side completely in recent weeks. Not because it's not a great decision (it absolutely is, albeit long overdue), but because I don't believe it was made on footballing grounds.
Something tells me if things hadn't turned sour, he'd have featured considerably right to the end.

I thought that to be honest, he did say he was really surprised not to get a new contract so maybe he feels he's being unfairly forced out. Dougie would probably say his head isn't right.

Pretty poor if it is that.

The top dog is being moved over and fucked off at the end of the season.

He's obviously not going to like that, he probably feels that he's being cast away.

The story is that Davies seems to have gone behind the clubs back by getting an agent and approaching other clubs about signing him - the last bit of which is illegal whilst he is under contract.

The idea behind it seemed to be that if other clubs showed interest in him then Bolton may be inclined to give him another contract.

The plan came unstuck when the chairman of a club approached by the agent, reported then fact to Gartside.

Bolton seemingly had no intention of renewing Davies contract anyway and this apparent deceitfulness as just soured the situation.

The last straw appeared to be that a 'swap' was agreed with Leeds on the transfer day window that Davies would go to Leeds for the rest of the season and Diouf would come back to us - thus both the clubs would get shut of their 'problem child' to everyone’s mutual benefit.

Even this turned sour when an apparent last moment demand was made for more money from one of the players to 'sweeten' the deal.

Whether that came from Team Davies (Emma’s husband) or Bolton chav favourite, wife beater, drunk driver and find a better clubber, Diouf, I'll leave you to decide.

The legend that was Kevin Davies seems to be walking begrudgingly towards the Wanderers 'out' door dragging his feet of clay.

All for a few dollars more, eh!

Whoever mentioned his mental state is bang on the money. He won't be 100% focused with us if he does play as he will be more concerned about his future, and all of the events that have since come to light, won't have helped matters.

It's a shame it's ending this way.

I was sure that was the case (the sulking bit) and I think it is really unfortunate that he seems to have ditched his "consummate professional" tag. Not a good look by any means.

Nah, a man of his professionalism wouldn't sulk.

He's obviously been "iced" though.

It is sad that Davies' time is ending like this but he should have gone last summer. N'gog and sordell should have started the season for us up front. Those two could be the McGinlay and Walker for us if we showed faith in them.

It wouldn't surprise me, it certainly is no coincidence that he hasn't even been given game time for a few weeks and Tom Eaves has been re-called and replaced him on the bench.

It could just be he's shit. Which he is.
