Sunderland down to 10 men, shocking challenge from Gardner.

Lose tonight and I would have to make Sunderland the favourites to go down.
They were lucky to draw at the Reebok in the cup and we beat them comfortably enough in the end at their place. As far as promotion threats go, them coming down does not really concern me.

Swansea players are already on the beach, Wigan will be well it for it and I can't see Swansea being able to match them. Wigan will probably win that game quite comfortably.

I am more concerned about Reading next season than I am about QPR,Wigan/Sunderland, Reading have a cracking manager, the other 2 have fuckwits in charge, I say 2 because Martinez will fuck off if Wigan go down.

I really don't buy this "on the beach" bit, the team with nothing to play for gets a result far too often for it to have any merit.

I tend to agree. Look at Blackpool on Saturday.

It's just a saying to point out that the players of a team with nothing to play for may not be as interested in the result as the players from a team with something still to play for. You can probably find evidence for and against it, I guess it depends on the mentality of the team/players/manager etc..

Pardew at Newcastle will probably be bricking it and likewise Chris Hughton at Norwich will be desperate for them to beat West Brom on Saturday.
Sunderland at home to Southampton should be a decent game as well.

I can't stand Mike Cashley so I would quite happily see them go down. A lovely stadium but absolute shite for the away fans stuck up there in the lap of the gods. It's no wonder the Geordies get praised for having vocal fans because they have all four sides of the ground covered with their supporters.

There was a plethora of Geordies in the town in the Netherlands where I used to live.
They were all decent folk but they would gather like a shoal in the pub and mostly whinge about Newcastle United.
I made a Geordie passport so that I could join them in conversation.
"Have you got your passport?"
"Why aye man"
"You can join us then you canny bag o' tudor liek"
