Never seen the appeal of Vegas, let's fly half way across the globe to give our hard earned cash to a Yank Casino... Nah, not for me.

I don't entertain slot machines or casinos in the UK, it's more about seeing the spectacle and walking down the strip at night, taking in a show and staying at the Bellagio.

We stopped at the Monte Carlo, next to the New York New York. Bash, give it a try if you can, its brilliant. All the big hotels put on a couple of free shows each day, and there's a lot more to see than you would think. Went to Death Valley from here. relly good.

Dinamoe, that was a cracking trip, Always fancied Memphis, but didn't fancy all those Elvis look-a-likes wandering about Very Happy. Went to the Outer Banks, and was impressed with the Wright Brothers museum. (Kill Devil Hills ?)

If you are doing a long trip in America it certainly is better if you have someone to share the driving with.

The roads I've been on in New York State, California / Nevada Arizona area and Florida have all be wonderful to drive on but the restricted speed limits make the journeys seem twice as long as they need be.

I got pulled over twice, both on roads as large if not larger than our motorways, both times the roads have been empty of traffic as far as the eye can see into the distance on those long straight highways they have, and both times I was only doing 70mph although I knew the speed limit was I think 55mph for one road and 60mph for the other.

I just acted the dumb tourist - playing up my British accent as much as I could - and both times got off with a polite warning.

As for Vegas Bash, you should go, even if it is just the once. I've been a couple of times and would love to go back again another day - even though I don't gamble at all!

Sorry to hear you missed seeing the Grand Canyon. It's the most spectacular natural wonder I've seen. The helicopter ride over it is well worth taking if you can afford it.

These days I probably wouldn't. I prefer to travel with my missus - she helps me handle the stress when things go wrong and it's nice to have someone to share the experience with.
