Andreas Ivanschitz and Ivan Klasnic are among four players who will not be having their contracts renewed by Mainz at the end of the season.

The duo will not be retained by the club along with midfielder Marco Caligiuri and defender Radoslav Zabavnik.

They join centre-half Jan Kirchhoff, who has signed a pre-contract agreement with Bayern Munich, in having their exits from the Coface Arena this summer confirmed.

Striker Klasnic has had less of an impact since his much-heralded move from Bolton in the summer, playing just three times.

No!

- the player who I voted for as the most overrated. Hes just proven it here, three appearances!

lazy, slow, poor agility, he could hit the ball well on some occasions.. but not enough to make up for his disadvantages.

He'll score more than the wasters we have at the minute , so Definately yes.

No, he is an impact player and we have one in Craig Davies.

If he's on a pittance then yes, having someone like him come off the bench when you're one down is never a bad thing.

Agreed, he probably scored more goals off the bench than when he started.

Doubt if his fitness levels will be up to the intensity of the Championship. Its sad to say that he would be a backwards step at thia stage of his career. Probably looking at a lower level or retirement.

The Championship is the most competetive 2nd tier league in world football.

Sadly no, but if Dougie could get his fitness levels back up then we could have a similar type to kevin phillips.

Good impact sub with a very good eye for goal.

Then why not just sign Kevin Phillips?

He's probably one of the worst players for 90 mins, but one of the best finishers in Europe , so if you need a goal in the last ten mins he's your man.

Why not indeed, I mentioned him the other day but Klasnic is younger.

Perhaps. But wouldn't the other implications of him being in this team concern you? I know swapping Ngog for Klasnic feels like a straightforward trade of eight goals for twenty, but it's really not. Decent shot aside, he offers nothing. So think of the impact on the team as a unit of effectively playing as ten men. We'd concede more goals and we'd be less effective with possession, meaning other players' tallies could suffer too.

Klasnic's goals come at a cost. Personally, I think it's way too high.

So do Ngog's lack of goals.
