They say pre-season doesn't matter..... but I made my prediction after this last one that we would struggle.....and under OC it almost came true. Pre-season sets the tone not just a get fit exercise. IMO.

We've had terrible pre-seasons in the past and then gone on to get promoted.

It is mainly about fitness imo but playing well and winning does no harm.

Pre-season doesn't mean a thing so long as the players get fit.

I don't really care who we play to be honest and I don't think it matters, so long as there's one half decent team in there and nobody gets there legs snapped.

I really enjoy pre-season and normally go to 3 or 4 games if possible (last season - Crewe, Tranmere and Barca 'B'). They are usually local and there is always one or two decent away games. It's a good chance to get a feel of the squad, see who looks sharp and who needs to put some work in. It's a chance for Dougie to have a play with the system and trial most few fringe players and the new signings. It really does give you a taste of what's to come and gets you excited about the start of the season that is just around the corner.
