I don't think a 29 year old is an old head.

I do. I reckon most are past it at 29.
29 is really, really old.
I know a woman who is 29 and she's well past it - probably never find a man, have children or even understand the basic pleasures of life.
If I was 29 and not settled down in this day and age I'd probably feel totally on the shelf, as if life had simply passed me by. It happens you know.
I bet we all know someone who has passed the 29 milestone and has ended up alone, bitter, twisted and full of regrets. It's sad really.

"old head" isn't just your age, it's experience.

I'd describe Fabregas as an "old head" but he's only 26.

Eagles is an old head for us.

obviously you need a blend of old heads and young hungry players with a bit to prove.

just a load of one or the other is rarely a good thing.

Exactly. Dougie also seems to have underestimated the impact of a captain.

Making Zat Knight captain is one of the most laughable decisions I've ever heard of - I truly hope there is a rethink before Burnley. Knight is about as far away from a leader as you could get.

I've seen him shirk responsibility for the last 3 seasons.

A leader should have been signed. Big mistake Dougie.

Knight was an ever present last season. Who would you rather give the Captaincy too? There's no real outstanding candidates at this point but Knight is good enough.

As I've said for the last two years - we should make our main Summer target a captain. We are just about the easiest team to roll over when the pressure is on because we don't have any leaders on the pitch.

Making Knight captain just because he's an ever present is a joke.

We could probably get Nigel Reo-Coker fairly cheaply. He's definitely captain material and was very popular at the Reebok for showing his commitment to the cause. He was often the only one who seemed up for it. If we wanted to push the boat out, I reckon Kevin Nolan could do a captain's job but he's probably out of our price range. Then there's Kevin Davies - he is a very committed player who leads by example....
I'm sure that the fans at the Reebok would welcome players like these with open arms, but we'd be very lucky to get them.
