Who's a fan of the Ashes? I like to follow it and had thought England had hot if to a very bad start, however the bowlers seem to have rescued it and looks pretty even now.

There were some piss poor bowling from the Aussies early on but then they got their eye in after dinner.
Bairstow's shot when he got out was appalling. He looked like he was comfortable out there then he goes and produces an amateurish stroke like that.
It's set up nicely for tomorrow thanks to the best swing bowler in the world and Steve Finn.
That Aussie Smith looks pretty dangerous as well.
Although it may be a long day in the field for us due to the forecast. We need at least a couple of wickets before lunch.
Oh Jimmy....Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy Anderson!

The end of any meaningful input on a cricket thread.

The key wicket today was that of Michael Clarke for zip all. England now have a real chance to get back into this test match after a posting a disastrous 1st innings total of just 215. The whole country should rejoice and give thanks for the marvellous, wondrous world conquering swing bowler that is Jimmy Anderson, "The Bolton Express."

cricket is simply a means of wasting time, crap excuse for a sport...
i went to OT cricket ground once on a corporate hospitality day watching I think it was Lancashire playing... somebody, food was fantastic, beer/wine was even better, all the staff were fit... but the fucking cricket... what the fuck was that!?
Il admit, i hardly ever went in the stand and when I did it was mainly for a chat with somebody...

It's an enjoyable relaxing way to take in a sporting spectacle. The spectators are more laid back than the footy fans apart from the noisy buggers from the Indian sub continent.

I totally agree. I can't be arsed with cricket a lot of the time, but when I can it's for the reasons you mention.

I'd rather be soaking up the rays at Trent Bridge than working, any day of the week.
