For me it's Big Bang Theory. I also like Rules of Engagement. What do you like?

What about British ones, instead of the run-of-the-mill US ones?
My favourite ones, which has just finished its current run is Mrs Brown's Boys

I watch Rules of Engagement, it's average to be honest, but Patrick Warburton (Jeff) is fantastic. Everything the guy says is funny.

Because
1. It's my topic
2. It's what I like
3. Big Bang Theory is in no way run-of-the-mill
4. There aren't any current British sitcoms that particularly impress me, and
5. I can't stand Mrs Brown's Boys.

I like BBT as a sort of Sunday afternoon, I'm bored watch.
i definitely wouldn't tune into it on purpose.
There are no "great" sitcoms anymore, unless you count Curb.
The era of Seinfeld, Friends, Frasier is long gone.

Modern Family is outstanding, not quite in Frasier class, but you can tell it's written by the same person.

I recently started watching Modern Family when I remember to - I'm not a fan though, but there are amusing bits from time to time.

It's a toss up between 30 Rock and The Office USA - but I'll go with The Office.

Interesting that all the nominations, with one exception, have been for US sitcoms. It doesn't really surprise me as the quality of US comedy writing has been better than British for some time. It even extends to cartoons. The Simpsons, South Park and Family Guy all contain some brilliant and extremely witty writing.
The last British sitcom that I found really funny and original was Father Ted.

Mrs Browns boys is very funny IMO but british sitcoms that are good are very few and far between at the moment.
The comedy on bbc3 at the moment is aweful, though I must admit I love Family guy and American dad which I find better than Family guy to be honest.

Big Bang Theory is brilliant, watch it everyday on E4 and then watch it again on E4+1. Loved Mrs Browns boys especially the episode when she took LSD and started riding the couch like a horse. Nothing beats Frasier though.

When there is a British comedy to rival 'Allo 'Allo, 'Are You Being Served', 'Benny Hill' & 'Coupling', let me know, will you?

Used to go out with a Polish girl that absolutely loved 'Allo 'Allo, it is one of the most popular sitcoms in Poland apparently.

It is still popular over here in Holland and every year shown at least once on one of the RTL channels - although I think Comedy Central (NL) now has it.

Absolutely loved that show - I still quote Officer Crabtree - the undercover British Agent posing as a Gendarme : "Gud Mewning!"
